1  Emilie Autumn - Dir En Grey Shoes *pic heavy* in Shoes: Completed Projects by Dark Desires on: October 09, 2011 04:07:57 PM
Not quite sure if this goes here, but it was the closest I could think of.  I have here for your viewing pleasures a pair of hand "painted" shoes.  I used fabric markers on some $5 canvas shoes.  All freehand.  They are to be a gift for my Sister-In-Law for her 21st birthday.  Enjoy!

There is a key on the back of the Asylum shoe, however my camera pooped out before I could get a good photo.

2  Simple and Cheap Cornbread Side-Dish in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Dark Desires on: October 07, 2011 08:43:11 PM
Okay, so this may be WAY too simple for some people's taste (but hey, I have a four month old!  Gotta do the easiest things possible!).  My super picky husband loved it, and he hates cornbread.  Four easy ingredients:

Milk
Egg
Sweet Cornbread Mix
One can sweet Corn

By using the sweet mix instead of regular cornbread, it moved from "Not so great kinda bread", according to the picky husband, into the realm of edibles.  Mix up the cornbread mixture first, then gently stir in the can of corn.  Bake as directed on the package or a few minutes longer.  I ended up going five minutes past what the package stated in order to get a nice golden brown.  Let it cool completely for storage, or serve warm with a little butter on top!  Only ended up costing approximately $1.50, including the egg and milk.

Some pics below:

Ingredients (minus the egg and milk)

Mixed

Baking

And complete!!!  Five minutes after it was out of the pan, and the husband had already started eating.

3  Paper and Glass Necklaces - Simple in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Dark Desires on: December 19, 2010 10:16:17 AM
I started out wanting to make some simple Christmas gifts that I could personalize easily.  I ended up with several necklaces and pendants (or even key chains, they're very workable).

Unfortunately, I didn't really take step by step pictures.  I ended up with one of the making process:

And one of the finished products (mostly):

As you can see in the finished photo, several of the pendants to be are without any sort of way to attach them to one's person.  The plan is to get some black ribbon and do a simple necklace with those.  The other issue I had, which is hard to see with my light, is that the largest of the pendants changed color from the gloss.  My husband helped with the glossing step, and the largest one somehow got filled with the gloss agent.  End up changing from hot pink to an orange color.  Still looks kinda neat, but not the effect I was going for.

4  Hand Painted Violin Design in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Dark Desires on: December 15, 2010 08:48:32 AM
Here's a few images of a violin I finished recently.  The black background actually came on the violin, however it seemed kinda drab.  On the picture of the back, you can see the iridescent shimmer that was part of the original finish.  At first I was worried that the paint would change the tone, but then I realized the violin had really bad acoustics to begin with, and couldn't possibly get worse.  Much.  I ended up using Fine tip Silver paint markers from my local craft store to make the designs, and very little of the medium tip silver as well for the scroll work.

Hardest part:  Keeping my cats away from it while it dried!  Bad kitties.

Hope you like it!
