37  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Plus size Rockabilly and vintage on: February 09, 2011 05:58:42 PM
I absolutely love rockabilly and retro clothing, and I've looked around a lot and found that most of it's not plus size too. And if it is usually the highest they go to is a (small) 2X or it's incredibly expensive...$70 for a simple pencil skirt, yeah right.  Roll Eyes

There are a few tutorials on here that I've found and will definetly be trying. And they're super easy, even for a sewing novice.

Simple Pencil skirt: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=35275.0
Pencil skirt with gathered darts: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=72797.0
Pencil skirt with pannels and back corseting:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=18314.0

Also Lip Service has some great looking outfits, and they usually show a drawing of each piece, so it's easy to figure out the patterns. Smiley Or if you google "how to make a pencil skirt" a lot of different options come up, I've found that when I look for tutorials I need to be pretty specific.

Thank-you!  Grin  I definetly suggest searching around on deviant art, there are a lot on custom MLP's on there, and they definetly lead to lots of ideas and inspiritation.
I had a lot of different ideas at first then I thought to myself, pick an idea that means something to you. Since Frankenstein is my favourite book and so are the movies, that's what I settled on.  Wink

I love the pop art-type style of your pillow, it's wonderful! Plus the fact that it's Doctor Who related makes it even more wonderful. Smiley

Thank-you all for the lovely comments. They really made me smile.  Cheesy

These are my first MLP customs, and I really loved making them. And I know I definetly will be making more, I'm thinking Creature From the Black Lagoon.

RoaneFaery, I'd really love to know how your experience goes with Apoxie Sculpt. I had searched around on MLP Arena and didn't find that much info on it, except that everyone seems to like it.
