21  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Strawberry Pie on: April 18, 2011 09:24:45 AM
After spending a lot of time re-watching Pushing Daisies I was in the mood to make a strawberry pie, but I didn't quite feel like baking, so I made one out of felt instead.

I made little puffs stuffed with leftover felt (to give it a round ontop look), and then I cut little strawberry shaped slices out of red felt with white as the center, and embellished with some white stitching. Then I made the criss-cross top and crust from tan felt, and attached it ontop. I'm very happy with it, and everytime I look at it I'm reminded of Pushing Daisies.  Grin

Thanks for looking!

23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Rockabilly, Pin-Up, Retro Swap Anyone? on: April 03, 2011 09:15:30 AM
would the swap let you craft in any of those themes, or would you end up picking one of the three to focus the swap around?

It would be a general all encompassing swap, with each set of partners crafting items in the style their partner would like to receive.  Smiley

It's nice to see people are interested, and a possible volunteer organizer!  Smiley

How many points do you think we should do, maybe 5 or 6?
And when do you all think we should start sign-ups?
26  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Rockabilly, Pin-Up, Retro Swap Anyone? on: March 29, 2011 05:26:40 PM
After being here for a while, and waiting and waiting, I thought I'd ask if anyone was up for a roockabilly, pin-up, or retro swap anytime soon? I myself can't organize, I haven't even participated in a swap yet, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling.  Smiley

Your dress is amazing, I really like the pockets and collar, plus the fabric is amazing!  Smiley And I agree with Jannapy that the topstitching to mimic radio transmissions is a cute touch.

I loved this jacket in the show, and I love the one you've made. Very well done!  Smiley I wanted to make my own too, and this makes me think I should definetly make one for next winter.
