2  Vinyl Art Toy in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by KatFish on: April 18, 2011 09:45:34 AM
So I absolutely love designer vinyl toys, and after I watched a special on them on tv I got very inspired to paint my own. I didn't quite know where to start at first so I started looking around for blank toys, and wasn't too happy with most of the ones available, and then I went to Micheal's craft store and they had their Valentines decor out and I happened upon a blank bear with some stickers and a marker. I thought to myself this will be perfect, so I bought it, without a design in mind. It sat in a box of supplies for a few weks, and then I saw an awesome Sunny Buick design, and realized I had seen a t-shirt design that would look neat on the body, and mixed in a few of mt own ideas. And it was complete!  Grin

Sorry about the sunbleached-ness of the photos.
Thanks for looking!

3  Strawberry Pie in Needlework: Completed Projects by KatFish on: April 18, 2011 09:24:45 AM
After spending a lot of time re-watching Pushing Daisies I was in the mood to make a strawberry pie, but I didn't quite feel like baking, so I made one out of felt instead.

I made little puffs stuffed with leftover felt (to give it a round ontop look), and then I cut little strawberry shaped slices out of red felt with white as the center, and embellished with some white stitching. Then I made the criss-cross top and crust from tan felt, and attached it ontop. I'm very happy with it, and everytime I look at it I'm reminded of Pushing Daisies.  Grin

4  Frank and his Bride (Lots of Pics) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by KatFish on: February 01, 2011 12:47:10 PM
I decided that my life needed My Little Pony's, and since I really wanted to customize them I choose Frankenstein's Monster and his Bride.

I bought the ponies at a thrift store, brought them home and cleaned them, then sculpted their hair and clothes out of polymer clay, and then I painted their bodies. I'm really happy with how they turned out, I hope that you all like them just as much.

Sorry the details on the Bride's dress got bleached out by the flash, white Fimo doesn't photograph well at all.

Thank-you for looking!

5  Re: doll's raincoat in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by KatFish on: January 22, 2011 02:21:05 PM
Making a doll raincoat would be similar to making a person sized raincoat, you'd use the same basic pattern just smaller.

Something like this:

Just enlarge it to fit.

Hope that helped! Smiley
