24  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: big blue vodka bottles on: January 01, 2011 05:36:19 AM
One of my friend created a small wall to separate area in his garden, it was maybe 70cm high and 20cm wide, with beer bottles (how classy is that :p). We spent a day to built it, we used mortar and inserted bottles so that the bottom was visible on the face of the wall. It's sturdy enough and actually looks quite nice, but colors aren't that great if you ask me!

Now, with pretty blue bottles, you surely can do much better!
If you want a bench, I'd go for white mortar and built a modern curvy one... but 12 bottles may not be enough...
25  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: vintage suitcase, no handle? on: January 01, 2011 05:20:15 AM
Myabe try to find an handle on another old suitcase? I can't think of anything homemade that would work fine...

It also depends what you want to use it for.
If I had such a suitcase, I'd probably use it as a small chest, so I wouldn't bother with a suitcase handle and go for a drawer one...
