1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / More New Weeglins because you can't not love Weeglins! on: May 11, 2013 02:28:44 PM
Always working on Weeglins, they are so fun to make and I love to challenge myself with making new unique boots as well as the challenge of creating custom Weeglins. Many more to come! I love your feedback!

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / More Monster-Plants! on: April 27, 2013 07:42:58 AM
I made up a few more of my Trap-Daisies! (bellis Tendiculae) I decide to add some superfine glitter to make them sparkle in the sunlight and add hand formed light weight teeth rather than forming them with layers of fabric paint.

(recap)
Bellis Tendiculae, commonly known as the Trap-Daisey is a vicious predator with a voracious appetite for flesh. They are perfect for protecting sensitive documents and keeping unwanted people away from unattended desks and work-spaces.

The Trap-Daisey is both hand and machine sewn. It is adorned with high quality superfine glitter for maximum shimmer when the light hits it. The stem is made of sturdy, flexible aluminum wire and the tendrils and tongue are also wired and opposable. This specimen it 14 inches tall. The pot is also handmade felt with a foam core to maintain its shape. Its weighted with gravel to keep it from tipping.

Trap Daisies are a great addition to a toy collection, décor for a kids room, bookshelf, or a whimsical desk ornament.

Hope you guys like em!

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Salt-Water Kraken! (pic-heavy) on: February 08, 2013 04:00:04 PM
Meet my Saltwater Kraken! This group is featured in the Spring 2013 issue of Stuffed Magazine! Please check them out if you get a chance, the magazine is beautifully shot and they look AMAZING! Very proud. You may remember my Freshwater Kraken http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=412250.0 from previous post. Anyways, These guys are the original version from which I derived the pattern from. These guys are made from felt and coated in a crusty, scaly solution of my own making that make them more like soft action figures then plushies. Pictured are the adult, juvenile, and larval stages. I also fashioned all the accessories. I will be making several for adoption this spring summer and hope to take them to a few craft shows/craft seller marts very soon. Hope you guys like em'!

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A Few more Giant Weeglins on: December 28, 2012 01:32:57 PM
Decided to make a couple more! This time I decided to make the boots a "mystery" They wil all be completely one of a kind and a surprise for whomever chooses to adopt them. I made a baby blue one in felt this time but I honestly prefer them to be in fleece at this size, that makes them much more huggable and washable because . I also inserted a foam insert into the ears this time because the last one I made had ears that were a bit too floppy.

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Santa's Other Helpers - Christmas Patrol Goblins on: December 12, 2012 03:18:13 PM
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a parent who wanted to commision me to create a naughty goblin to . watch over his children beside his elf He said he was having a rough time. LOL. Anyways, I made one up and it came out pretty great so I decided to pull the pattern out and make a couple more. If you are familiar with my work, you know my Weeglins were drafted to do a similar job this season but that really is not what they are for so I decided to pull out the old design because I am writing a picture book on the weeglins. I don't want to confuse the public.

So thats how these guys came to be. I call them "Santa's Other Helpers" Bad goblins who were so good at being bad, Santa drafted them to help out in the North Pole and to use their sneaky skills to be his eyes and ears. They gather info for. his "Naughty and Nice"  list.

Hope you guys like em! I made six and one has already been adopted since I shared them online yesterday.

This is the original guy I made:

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Weeglins Update! on: December 02, 2012 06:22:15 AM
Been busy making a ton of Weeglins lately for the holidays. A blogger over at Divine Secrets of a Domestic Diva contacted me about my Giant Weeglin I shared a few weeks ago. She wrote a poem/short story called "Troll in the Hole" Its kind of an alternative to the "Elf on the Shelf" that some parents use to "watch over" kids in the holiday season to insure good behavior. She needed a "troll" to sit on a shelf and she decided to use my Weeglin Cobble to symbolize/star as the image for her blog! Its a great idea having a "troll" sitting up on a shelf at christmas time to mind naughty children and keep them in line.

Anyways, I just wanted to share a couple of the latest Weeglins I have created by request, many of her followers have been commisioning me to make "trolls" for their mantles and shelves....guess there are a lot of naughty kids out there...lol.

Meet Cobble.

I decided to blow up my Weeglins pattern and make a super-sized version. It came out great!
I made him in fleece so he's super soft. He's about 22 inches tall with a 30+ inch arm span!
I'm going to be making these every few days untill Christmas so hopefully I'll be posting many more! Hope you guys like em'!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Crustallus Tendiculae - Frost-Bite Trap Daisy on: October 13, 2012 10:54:57 AM
Crustallus Tendiculae, commonly known as the "Frost Bite" Trap Daisy is a deadly species. They get their name from thir venomous bite that quickly freezes their prey in place long enough for the monster plant to get its fill. They are covered in fur because they are neative to icy climates and are on of the only plants that can thrive in the frozen tundra. Their deep green leaves and purple patches attract prey foraging in the dead of winter and allows the voracious beasts to surprise their victims with a frosty bite.

The Frost-Bite is both hand and machine sewn. The stems are made of sturdy, flexible alluminum wire and the leaves wired felt. The pot is also handmade felt with a foam core to maintain its shape. Its weighted with gravel to keep it from tipping. Its about 13 inches tall by about 17 inches around (leaves)

Hope you guys like em' stay tuned for more to come!
