21  Matryoshka Doll Shirred Dress in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by JHall on: September 29, 2011 12:43:26 PM

I made this dress for my friend's daughter.  The fabric is japanese, from Etsy.  Shirring with dritz elastic thread. Bias tape from Joann. Lace is thrifted.  It was actually a surprise and so I didn't ask for measurements, I just kinda guess. I'm really glad it fit. I was pretty afraid that somehow she was going to be super fat for her age and the dress wouldn't fit.. hahahah but it all worked out!!

My blog post on the dress: http://jordannhall.blogspot.com/2011/09/sewing-for-abbey.html

22  Simple Sewing Machine Cover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by JHall on: September 29, 2011 12:36:07 PM
I made a cover for my sewing machine because it was feeling naked.

The fabric is thrifted.  It's just a rectangle with rounded corners.  I basted it to a rectangle of white cotton and put bias tape around the edges.  Ribbon for the ties. Now my sewing machine won't get dusty yyeeaaaa. And I have enough of the fabric left over for one day in my dreams when I get a serger!

23  Needle Envelope - Now with Tutorial!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by JHall on: September 27, 2011 12:35:42 PM
Hello!! This is a little holder I made for my hand sewing needles because the paper envelope thing they came in was all ripped up:

The fabric and bias tape are from Joann.  i used felt for the actual needle holding part. I used a Singer Snap Fastener kit to put the snaps in.

24  Plush Matryoshka Dolls in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by JHall on: September 19, 2011 07:13:38 PM

hellooooo! This set of matryoshka dolls are sewn from scraps of cotton with rick rack and button detail. I started with a pattern for a matryoshka doll cutout card, and adjusted for sewing.  I did by best to keep the proportions of the dolls accurate to actual matryoshka dolls which would stack. The ladies are a base on white muslin and the exterior fabrics are stack on, basted around the edges.

For more info on my process, check out my blog post on the dolls: http://jordannhall.blogspot.com/2011/09/ladies-test-run.html

Thanks for looking! Smiley
