91  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Felt dolls and finger puppets on: March 19, 2011 12:33:32 PM
They look a bit like the black apple ragdoll, maybe? Either way, yours are adorable! So colorful and such sweet faces!
I hadn't come across these before. But yes, they do look a little like them. I'm scouring flickr to see if I can find the original dolls (it's really bugging me now)
Thank you everyone for the lovely comments Smiley
92  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Felt dolls and finger puppets on: March 19, 2011 09:27:22 AM
So here are some dolls I made recently.
I got a big bag of felt scraps as a pressie from my friend (she knows me so well Smiley). I couldn't stop making them once I'd done a couple. I used some scraps of vintage material for the arms and legs. I think I got the idea for the shape from someone on flickr (Really sorry but I don't remember their name, I really should write these things down Roll Eyes)

And with the really scrappy scraps of felt I had left over.............. I made finger puppets

My son has grown quite attached to these. They have been useful when trying to keep him still to change his bum! Grin
Thank you for looking
93  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / child-size button tree bags on: March 19, 2011 09:17:48 AM
Hello craftsters!
These are some child-size button tree tote bags I've been working on. Don't you just love button trees. I could get addicted to them.
I might try some button flowers next, or butterflies. Hmm?
Thanks for looking  Grin

And Gypsysoul, I know what you mean. I have to stop making them  Wink
95  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Cloud diary (lots of pictures) on: March 18, 2011 05:57:36 PM

A stationary company delivered the wrong kind of till rolls to my shop. After ringing them, they said they would send the right ones and to throw the other ones away!!!!
Not one for waste, I took the till rolls home.
I love clouds but have never been any good at drawing them, so I decided to use one of the rolls to practice.
I looked out of the same window each day and took a photograph of the clouds. I then used the photograph to draw from. Like a sort of cloud diary. I thought it would be quite an easy way to see my progression.
I decided not to restrict myself to any one medium. I have used ink, pencils, charcoal, pastels and paint to try and capture the clouds.

I'm quite pleased with the outcome and am definitely more confident about drawing clouds now  Smiley
I think when it's all rolled out it looks like it could make a good room border.
Thank you for looking, let me know what you think.
96  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Half finnished projects swap on: March 16, 2011 05:37:02 AM

I'm sorry for clogging the board if this swap has already been suggested (I haven't had chance to go through the 150 odd pages yet and didn't want to forget the idea!)

I have quite a few unfinished projects hanging around that have lost momentum but have potential.
So the idea would be to send out half finished projects (anything) and your partner would Finnish it and send it back. Obviously you would have to say if there was something you particularly didn't want to happen to your work but I think it would produce some interresting collaborations.

I haven't actually participated in a swap yet so I couldn't organise this one until have. I wouldn't mind if someone else organised it though.
Is anyone interrested? Smiley

What a lovely little chap the snolphin is, I say little but would he be as big as a dolphin or as small as a snail?
I used to think narwhals were made up things, then I saw a documentry on them. Wow, they really do exist! Shocked
