[Dollar Store Challenge]

So I entered the Dollar Store Challenge, (have you seen that board yet? http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=37927.0 , spend up to $5.00 and make something fabulous from the goodies--go vote on your favorite!), and what I came up with was a tiara made from the hardware supplies I bought.   I haven't seen too many tiara posts lately, so I thought I'd share my finished product here too.

Below are the supplies I started with and my new-fangled tiara.  Now I just have to find someplace to wear it!  Cleaning the house, doing laundry, whenever I am visiting the craftster site... but how will I rationalize wearing it to the supermarket?

I love to browse the hardware store and come up with ideas.  Maybe ask folks to shop their local small-business hardware store as opposed to the mega stores--the old time hardware stores often have things you wouldn't expect.

This fall I spent a lot of time collecting and pressing leaves in my new flower press--now I have hundreds of them in a box.   I came up with a few uses for them, these coasters are one of them.  I made some with silver colored edges and some with copper.  I love the way they look laid out flat or all stacked up.  Can you tell fall is my favorite season?
