She's great!  You put so much work into her--very impressive.

She's adorable!  Love all the details (and the photos)!  Since you are "the child" I think adding the few facial details very appropriate.  How many Barbies have gone the way of hair cuts and magic marker make up?  Many... very many....

29  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Re: A New Ren Faire Board?!? on: January 15, 2006 05:50:09 PM
I agree that my Ren clothes are more clothes than costume, but that's not the only Ren-related item I make.  There's far more than just the clothes and jewelry of the period, so maybe a board for "sub-cultures"?  Then using child boards the fantasy costume folks would have an appropriate space, historic period folks would have theirs, etc.
30  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Show off your hair! on: January 14, 2006 12:06:40 PM
The main reason those extensions are so expensive is because of the price of the hair, not necessarily the labor.

When I had my whole head done I got fake hair that matched my color at a local store and it was pretty cheap.  All the salon did was braid it in--the expense was in the labor, because it took a few hours to do the whole thing.  (I had pretty small braids.)  The fake hair helped to hold the braids, and I left them in long enough to reach the small of my back.  After it was done, I occasionally needed touch ups, but I just had my friends do them. I kept them in for about two months.
