sparrownlove--that is fantastic! It looks great and I love that color green. I'm a big sucker for green...

I ADORE you! I am totally going to make one of these. Where would be a good place to find caribeaners? My brother is driving me and he says that he's "only stopping one place, so it better be a good one." Hehehehh.. Thats what he thinks. He's going to chauffeur me all around town.  Grin
Hiya! I'm not so sure where exactly to get caribeeners in the states. Probably sports shops? And I'm sure that you can convince your brother to drive you all over the place. Tell him it's for a good cause...the power of the craft.  Wink

thanks again, everyone for your kind comments. \(^_^)/  Many people have been asking about where they can get cute Japanese fabrics. There are some places online that you can order from. But be warned that they are mostly all in Japanese. The first link has some English. Here ya go!

hey, if so many people want one and your having trouble coming up w/ suitable cost... here is a trick:

when u buy all of your supplies, keep the recite or remember the cost, or whatever. but, add up the cost of all your materails. then add some for the labor. this will be your total cost. although, if you see some hipslingers/fannypacks in the stores you might check the price and compare theirs with yours.

o, i will definitely be making one. maybe a backpack version...
Thanks for the advice! I hope to see your hipslinger on here! (^_^)

the green and yellow fabric you used is REALLY cute...where did u buy it??
that's one of my favoriite fabrics.  :)I bought it in Japan.

wow, i admire your tenacity in singlehandedly bringing the fanny pack back. although some would argue that it never left...
anyhow, good job! i will try it! i like dance too and this will be great!

Thank you! hehheh You're right...the fanny pack was still lurking in the corners. And I wouldn't say "singlehandedly". Every girl out there who's makin one and struttin her stuff is helping the cause.   Cheesy Hope to see your hipslinger!

okay heres my version =D
I'm going to Mexico next week and I needed something to hold my money while I'm out and about, so that I don't have to carry something around! This was such a good idea, thanks!!

This post was the inspiration for the one I made. It worked really well for a party in the park, I didn't want to carry a big purse, so it was perfect and I made the tie straps long enough that if I want, it can be a shoulder bag too.

These are fantastic! I love em!
Shanalicious--I really love the cherry applique. So cute!
DoulaDo--Using the metal rings looks really snazzy! I may have to do that for my next bag!

phoebe0506, how'd you like it??? I'm going to Nagoya for a couple weeks in June, and I'm at a complete loss about the city. Any suggestions for a fellow traveler?

Hiya. I live in Osaka right now and that's not too far from Nagoya. You can either take a shinkansen (bullet train) or an express train (cheaper) that will get you out here. There are lots of fabric stores that sell fabric for pretty cheap. Also, you might want to check out ABC crafts which is four floors of fabric, traditional Japanese craft items, yarn...anything you could ever want. If you want more info or more details then PM me.

Oops. How did I miss this post? How long will you be in Tokyo? I live in Osaka right now but will be making my way back to Tokyo end of this year or beginning of next year. I know...long time away...

Wowowowow!  Oh man, for my drama class, this girl brought a BRIGHT PINK old school fanny pack, and everyone was just laughing like crazy... but this one!  Now this is not one of those hideous fanny packs Wink  You have the cutest fabric, too!!!

By the way, this is sort of off topic, but you live in Japan?  Where?  I moved to the US last summer, oh, how I miss Japan Cry

Thank you! I live in Osaka, Japan right now. But will be making my way back to Tokyo again. My heart belongs to Japan...where did you live?
