1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Polymer clay dachshund on: February 20, 2012 12:05:57 AM
Thanks for the lovely comments everyone.  I think in the end he was about 6-7 inches long.  I think he was supposed to be 5  Embarrassed hehe

He's a mix of Super Sculpey and Sculpey firm, over a wire and foil armature - for those who are interested.

I am itching to get my rat commissions out of the way to get working on more canines  Cheesy
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Polymer clay dachshund on: February 19, 2012 03:30:44 PM
I was commissioned just before Christmas to make a dachshund figure for someone. I didn't get him done quite in time, be he went to his new home last week.

I am mostly happy with how he turned out.  Of course I can see where to improve next time, but it has been a fun learning curve, especially looking at anatomy that isn't a rat! (I have really only done rat sculptures!).  I'd like to have just redone the legs altogether though!  Roll Eyes

Shocked It's amazing! The detail, the work...heck I don't care how impractical something is to wear when it looks that awesome.  Grin
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Mini Rat Ornaments on: February 03, 2012 08:51:33 AM
I was commissioned to make these little mini rats holding the food stuffs they were named after.  I had fun making the food, but I won't be rushing to do anything similar! Wink I wish I'd done a little bite out of the gingerbread man too, but they went out in the post earlier today.  The one on the right is holding a flapjack (I know it looks like a Weetabix!  Cheesy)

Thank you for the lovely comments guys  Embarrassed  Grin

How do you get such great fur texture?? Do you use a special tool?

I use different things for each model, depending on what I have lying around.  This one was done with an x-acto knife for most of it.

7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Facebook Fan Pages on: September 21, 2011 04:53:21 AM
I've just created a page as my brother wanted me to (he is making my website):
https://www.facebook.com/PhilosophyfoxCrafts

There's not much on there but it'll stop my personal page on FB being covered with spam of my craft updates for customers.  I'm not so much bothered about too much traffic there until I have my website up and running.

I've been liking a few things related to crafts/rats whatever else is sort of linked to my own interests - including some Craftsters' FB pages Smiley
