Not the plastic one that were really big in the 80's mind you, but the soft sculpture ones that Xavier Roberts started making in the late 70's on up to today! I belong to a few collector's groups, and a good friend of mine in WI who also collects, *really* wanted a gnome outfit for her "preemie" sized cabbie named Oliver! One bonus about the preemies is that they are the same size as those Mass Market kids of the 80's, so I was able to use some of the MM patterns I had kicking around to at least give me a base to start with -- the only thing i ended up using was a pattern for pants, and the rest I ended up kinda winging, LOL! This is what I ended up with:
She was thrilled with it, as was Oliver I am told, LOL!

), I did the padding, lining and backing in an evening, and then finished off the embellishments over the next week. There are a couple things I will do differently when I do my daughter's for next year, but overall I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Now here's hoping the kids like them, LOL!
, but I remembered this time, LOL! My MIL collects Nativity Scenes, and it's so hard to find one that is different from what she already has, so this seemed like the perfect solution! It's a pattern from Gourmet Crochet, but I changed up the colors quite a bit, and used safety eyes instead of embroidering
