71  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / perth (australia) abc knit-in? on: April 21, 2005 06:53:41 PM
just wondering if anyone's going to the abc knit-in perth? it's on the 1st of june.
it's a day at the abc studios in east perth, where you can turn up and leave at any time. they're knitting/crocheting squares to make blankets for anglicare.
all you need to bring is needles! they'd like you to bring wool, but if you can't they can supply. i can't find anywhere what size squares they want knitted, but i think they're using eight ply wool and needles that suit knitting with eight ply.
last year they broadcast abc radio from the knit-in (yeah, i'm a loser, i was listening) and it sounded fun! (there's free cordial and biccies... if that's an incentive...)  so anyway, i'm going, and i'm hoping to rustle up some other young'uns to challenge the grey patrol that i imagine dominates the knit-in.
this is the most detialed info i could find online:

72  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / stitching through tapemeasures on: March 01, 2005 03:56:54 AM
i guess this could have gone in the clothing section... but i wasnt sure and i'm all new an' all.

anyway, does anyone know of tapemeasures that can be stitched through? i only seem to have fibreglass coated ones, and i dont think a needle would get through it. or is it possible?
or, does anyone know somewhere you can buy cloth tapemeasures (online)?

i'm wanting to stitch one down the length of a bag i bought. dont really want to glue it unless i have no other option.
