I saw this swap and thought this is just what i need to make my craft room even more crafty Plus I get to do one of my favourite things - Patchworking arty quilty stuff I am just waiting on feedback from my dotee inchie and atc swap - hopefully they will be there in the next few days as I paid out a princely sum to get them there quickly (but then royal mail arent exactly good! )
I look forward to finding out who my partner is so I can get crafting asap woop woop - Yay for crafting !
I took my parcels to the local post ofice which should have been open until 12.30 annndddd I got there at 12 to find that all the blinds were dow saying position closed I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO! And got worried, then upset, then angry!
The lady in the library said it had been closed all day and didnt know why??? My partner had checked on the internet if it was open and it was supposed to be - So I was like - im going to complain and coming up with a plan so I didnt get the colour for sent late but with communication. I worry alot (can you tell!). Anyways my partner said lets try liverpool city centre even though it was not listed as being open - me being me - I was like 'wo is me' and 'there is no point the world is now over' *sob sob.
Well we got there an hour later and
So I have sent them in short lol! I paid extra to have them tracked and hopefully there in around 4 days!!! (he said it could take longer though)
I will email all my swappees and the co ordinators the codes in one email if thats ok with the postal code and the tracking code. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee they are on their way
Oh and the original box is tiny! about 4" x 3" x 2" - I put them in a bigger envelope just incases
I have really enjoyed swapping and as a nooobie I have definately got the bug!!! So how many can you sign up to at once??? is it 5??? I am on half term you see so maybe I could manage to squeeze in a new swap when I get the feedback I am going to make sure to send earlier in future to avoid the stress of last minute posting. I just wanted to try really hard with new crafts - they are silk painted (only second time)- beaded - and I used fimo for the first time - and gold leafed (only dabbled with a few times). I also tried some textile art too - so this really has been great for me developing my skills - THANKYOU SOOOO MUCH
Time to send the tracking codes ( who knows they may be on the plane already!) x
I feel like each of my dotees is better than the last, which makes me feel really insecure about the first two. I also didn't stop to think about how I'm going to ship these things! They're a little bit...bumpy.
Hehehehe!!! Intriguing lol! I cant wait to see them in the gallery.
Hooray they are all finished eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Well the dotees have bought themselves to life as they are completely different to what I had planned!!! Instead of the silk painting making them all flowy, elongated and drapey they have ended up very angular, dumpy (in a really good yet slightly odd way) and full of character. If I had stuck to my original idea they would have been lifeless, but I really like them now I will take a group photo of them before they take flight and arrive in their new homes. They all look like they are chatting away to each other in a mothers meeting lol!
This proect has been really enjoyable and theraputic as I really dont feel that I have controlled this project as much as i normally do (yup a teacher and a control freak with OCD!). If something doesnt go to plan I normally abandon it and start again - however on this occasion I just went with it and it was fab!!! The only other time I did that was one night when I wanted to paint and didnt know why or what I wanted to do - I just got the paint and played. Everyone who sees the painting likes it and asks where I got it. So I am hoping this project will have the same effect.
There are such fab things in the gallery and I am getting slightly anxious over what I have created - I just hope you all like them
Thank you so much to all the people involved in the swap - this really has been a fab experience and I really look forward to many more swaps x
