261  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: An entire mini monster family on: June 08, 2005 10:10:48 PM
Those are so adorable! Emo Kid is my favorite  Cheesy And thanks SO much for the distinctive fabrics tip; I just ordered my free 10 and I'll probably buy my fur there from now on.

Hahahaha!! Oh man, I just burst out laughing! That has got to be the coolest thing I've seen for a long time. Cheerio!
263  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / User Portfolios on: June 08, 2005 07:46:39 PM
One feature that I've always thought would be good is to have individual user portfolios. Whenever somebody wants to post a new craft of theirs, they could post on the appropriate board but also add it to their portfolio along with a tutorial (if they have one.) That way, if you like something that one user has made, you could easily find more things by them without scrolling through pages of "view this member's last posts." If you wanted to get fancy, you could even divide the portfolios into sections (clothes, purses, misc, etc.) I'm sure a TON of work would have to go into this, and maybe it's impractical, but it's an idea.
264  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Huge Thrift Store Pants to Crazy Fall Skirt (really image heavy!) on: June 08, 2005 12:43:47 PM
Okay, here are three thrift store finds, none of which fit me (nor would I want them to):

Here's what they looked like when I was done:

I'm pretty sure I'm going to make a matching purse with this on it:

I did this all with VERY minimal sewing skills (I've never sewn clothes before; I've barely sewn at all) so I'm pretty confident that anyone could do it. Hope you like!
265  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Michael Jackson messenger bag?! (pictures) on: June 08, 2005 11:53:57 AM
All right, folks, this is a very sad tale. I bought some white denim and sewed it up into a messenger bag. Surprisingly, (VERY surprisingly, considering my sewing skill), the sewing went without a hitch and I had a great bag to start working on. I was making it My Chemical Romance-themed; I was going to have lyrics, stencils, buttons, etc. all over it, but instead of the emo-ish colors and themes that unfortunately usually accompany MCR, I wanted it to be bright and colorful. Well, here's how it turned out:

The stencil is of Gerard Way, the singer. Unfortunately, I got so many people asking me if it was Michael Jackson that I was traumatized into trying to fix his nose. A combination of whiteout, sharpies, and paint made him even more skeletal and Michael-looking.

That, plus, with my filthy school, two days of carrying it around got the following lovely stains:

266  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Duct Tape Iris on: June 03, 2005 11:01:55 PM
Yup, that's almost completely duct tape. There's a coat hanger wire running through the stem and stamen to give support, but otherwise it's all tape.

Hope you like it!
267  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: My liberal, crazy self, doodled on clothing... on: May 13, 2005 04:29:28 PM
Aww, I feel so loved! Thank you very much for the compliment. As for suggestions: Drop Bush Not Bombs, Love Is Love, etc. I'm sure you've heard all of the cool slogans that I know. Remember to iron the jeans before you wash!
268  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: HARRY POTTER GALLERY (Part 1) on: May 08, 2005 03:21:39 PM
OK, here are the promised pictures of what I got from natashafatale:

Amazing Ravenclaw wristwarmers on my clawlike digits:

A matching amazing Ravenclaw purse with a moon on the bottom (Lupin!)

Two diaries, one with Sirius and one with a moon (Lupin again):

And a Quidditch Through the Ages book (I figure you know what that looks like.) THANK YOU!!! I absolutely adore my stuff. I haven't heard anything from booglass, so I hope my things have reached her safe and sound.
269  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Spiky/Furry Neon Duct Tape Purse on: May 07, 2005 09:00:19 AM
Wow! I love the pink! It's great to see what you've done with the idea; I actually like the horizontal bag better than the vertical one I made. I'm thinking of making a thick bracelet like this soon.

I've got my awesome stuff from natashafatale and I'll post pictures later when I get my digital camera back, but here's what I got:

AMAZING Ravenclaw fuzzy wristwarmers with AMAZING matching moon purse
Tiny little black diaries with HP stuff on the front
A Quidditch Through the Ages book

I absolutely love it all, and I'm never taking the wrist warmers off ever again. Pictures later, I promise  Grin
