31  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / how do you organize? on: May 14, 2005 10:35:12 AM

well, i don't know about you but i'm a very spontaneous person. so i start a project, go "shopping" online and see a sweet scarf i want and i start that.
but what i want to know is how would i store/organize all my projects?!
should i give each project a shoe box? i've been thinking about doing that...

but i don't think i have enough shoe boxes!!!

help!
32  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Blisters... on: May 11, 2005 03:12:07 PM
i did the stupidest thing afterschool today.
well, i wore these strappy chunky sandals and they hurt my feet, so when i got on my street i took them off. i thought the pain was from the tar being super hot [sunny sunny day] but i got home and then realized it gave me blisters!
on the bottoms of my feet!!!!!
one huge one on each heel and one under the big toe on each foot.

it sucks, is there anything i can do?
keep in mind, i have to walk around all day tomorrow AND the next day...

thanks in advance..
33  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Canvas in progress... on: May 10, 2005 02:54:58 PM
so here's my mixed media collage so far!

predjudice and flaws of people and USA in general is the focus

terrorism. this was an article in Seventeen. Jack Hensley's beheading.   Cry it made me cry. i took a piece of the article i thought was important.

racism...

survey on predjudice..

so, i ask of you all..are there any particular articles in magazines like TIME or anything readily available somewhere that i should add?
also, what other events or problems should i add?
i'm planning on a big corner of 9/11 and litter. maybe smoking?

34  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / seasonal dry skin on: May 05, 2005 05:30:28 PM
okay, i have got really dry skin this year. it sucks. especially because its all over my face. it burns and it's itchy. i think my face is kind of red too because kids at school ask if i got a sunburn. and it's sorta flakey.

i haven't changed my facial care regiment or makeup routine...so that's why i say it's seasonal although it's never happened before.

I NEED HELP!!!
what can i do to get rid of it?
35  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / another hair dye-ing question... on: May 01, 2005 07:30:21 AM

that's my hair. i want chunks of dark brown [mom wouldn't go for the black Roll Eyes]

i already bought the dye, Clairol Hydrance in Sable Cove, [it's a cream type consistancy too] but now i need to know if i do that thing with aluminum foil..put it under the chunks of hair i want chunkified and put the dye and then fold it up and blow dry...?

it also doesn't say anythng about having clean hair before dye-ing it...mine's dirty, should i wash it?

help. i want it to come out good and dark on my already dark hair.

 Kiss thanks in advance
36  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / gauge-deciphering help!!! on: April 29, 2005 03:46:22 PM
this is probably dumb question......but...

ok, this is what it says:
"gauge: Cast on 18 stiches, work in stockinette stitch to equal 4 inch square"

how do i know how many rows it should take me to get that long? it didn't say?
37  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / PRINCESS TUNIC thing... on: April 28, 2005 09:48:29 AM
ok, i got this "it's not easy being a princess" tee when i was like...6? needless to say, it was WAY too small. but i still loved it.
so i made this:
floor wearing it...

top part...

camera whore belowwwww...

and a close up of the blue fabric left over from a dress my mommy made me a couple years ago...

it used to have a rhinestone on the crown...but it fell off. so sometime, i'll pick up rhinestones and put one on the crown and some on random dots.  Smiley
also, one of the "straps" is already falling off...but i'll fix that soon.
38  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / desperate sewing machine help!!!!! on: April 27, 2005 01:29:45 PM
okay, so i have this problem with sewing machines. in middle school i jammed one in Home Ec.

my mom is gone and i was using her sewing machine [hand sewing is just too freaking hard.]
and i pressed the pedal LIGHTLY and now the needle won't come back up!!

what do i do?!?! i can't afford to pay for another sewing machine for her if this one is completely crap now.
