The higher the hair, the closer to God, ladies.
It's so B-52's. I have rarely been so jealous of another person. It is great.
yeah i totally loved the whole bee-hive idea and i actually took a pictures of the lady from the b-52's to the hair place when i got it done....the phone call my mom made to set up my appointment went something like:
mom: yes she'd like a beehive...no...not an updo....like...a beehive.....no she's not elderly......
i'm not going to lie- i have no idea how people used to do their hair like that on a regular basis back in the day. the lady who did my hair said they had never had a request for a beehive before and she never learned it in beauty school so it was all experimental. i have really long and really really thick hair. so she just left the outer layer down and teased the middle part; then pinned the teased pieces in a cone shape and covered it with the outer hair. it was such a process and we kept having to redo it because i didn't have enough hair on the outside. to make this all ten billion times better, another girl from my school was two chairs away from me getting her updo done with little curls and flowers while my lady was teasing my hair out remarking that i looked like a cavewoman as i continued to urge her to make it even bigger....
yeah.
it's like that.
in the process:

and then taking it out afterwards ( three friends and a bottle of conditioner):

there's more obnoxious pictures of me being trashy with my rat's nest hair in the link under my first post.
