I received today from sonjaboo!!  Grin I haven't been home long enough to take pictures, and will be gone ALL day tomorrow, but I will post pictures on Sunday, I promise. I got such a fun package!

She sent me a full-length (vintage?) apron, which I love. A recipe card box that she customized, and filled with a whole bunch of vintage recipe cards (which I had seen before in my grandma's recipes and I loved), one notepad in the shape of/with a cover of a woman in an apron, one notepad for keeping track of a weekly menu (which is awesome because DH and I are just getting in the habit of planning meals in advance so that we won't eat out so much), a whole set of magnets with vintage looking pictures of women on them, and some cute vintage tupperware bowl magnets in awesome 70's colors.

But thats not all! There were also two vintage jelly (?) jars, clear with pretty lids, and a large 70s yellow tupperware salad bowl with salad spoons! And, she made an accordian fold book/scrapbook which says Beauty on the front and holds a picture and then the inside pages have pockets with cards in them. So cute! Sorry if I'm forgetting anything--I don't have the package in front of me---but when I get home on Sunday I will take pictures of everything to show off its wonderfulness.  Grin Thanks so much Sonjaboo!!

ETA pictures! Sorry it took so long!

and me wearing the vintage apron (excuse the mess. I'd like to say its because we're about to move, but really we're just messy)

Yay! I got my sleep mask from Drea4545 on Saturday and I love it! It is so soft and pretty, plus she made a bag to go with it that reminds me of a Jackie-O suit (what's that fabric called?). Everything is green and lovely. I don't currently have my camera (left it at someone's house) but I was able to get ok scans of both things, although the colors are a little off (Drea, if you took pictures before you sent, feel free to post....i probably won't have my camera back for a few days)

3  Re: Librarian Love/Reading Is Sexy 2 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by lucid501 on: April 28, 2006 01:16:42 PM
I went home for lunch today and was really bummed because the food I picked up from a local restaurant ended up sucking. a lot. But then, I checked the mail, and I got my package from parisgirl! Yay! I don't have my digital camera right now (I forgot it at a friends house) but I should get it back this weekend.
Parisgirl made me an awesome box designed to look like a Reader's Digest book with those nifty patterned covers. She collaged the inside with (I'm guessing) pages from a real Reader's Digest book. It was protected in the package by this lovely yellow furry fabric which I can't get enough of. It is quite possibly the softest thing I've ever felt.
Inside the box I got two different kinds of bookplates: Sunflower bookplates, and Women themed bookplates (scans below). Also, she made me some lovely cards with reading quotes (a few of my favorites are below). I will post pictures of the awesome book-shaped box as soon as I get my camera back. Thanks Parisgirl! I love all of it! Grin

4  Re: help for the girl who was "never getting married" ? in Weddings and Bridal Showers by lucid501 on: April 01, 2006 06:48:55 PM
we had a wine ceremony instead of a unity candle

Ooh whats a wine ceremony? I've never heard of that. Sounds wonderful.

It's neat...basically we had two small carafes of wine on a table behind the officiant (where the unity candle would normally go). One was white wine, and one was red wine. We each poured one of the small wine carafes into a larger decanter in the middle, making a "new wine". and then we each poured the other a glass from the new wine and took a drink. All this while DH's mother sang "In My Life" by the Beatles. It was really beautiful I thought, and a nice change. Here's a picture that kind of shows the glassware and stuff

I got my painting from Flareon today! She sent me a beautiful portrait of my bloodhound (the pup in my avatar). Here is the picture she painted from:

and here is her beautiful painting of it:

I love it! (she even edited out the ugly couch and Payton's sock toy  Cheesy)

AND, as though she wasn't already cool enough, Flareon stepped in to be a swap angel for me for the bookmark swap, where one of my partners never sent out. I got a fabulous tatted bookmark which I will post in the bookmark swap gallery.

Thanks Flareon!

9  Re: Totoro shirt, first try at stenciling. in Stenciling: Completed Projects by lucid501 on: July 03, 2005 11:45:01 AM

Yay. ^_^

I tried to make this stencil, but I got thrown off by all the "islands"--how did you cut out the stencil exactly without losing pieces? The shirt looks great!
