Made with the Chunky Monkey scarf pattern from Not Your Mama's Crochet. The yarn is Bernat Softee Chunky in Soft Taupe.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Keeping an even number of stitches on each row on: April 11, 2007 01:06:20 PM
I'm making a scarf that alternates single crochet rows with triple, double, and half double rows. I spent all day working on it (literally hours), and the edges wave in and out all over the place.

I tried (really) to watch the turning chains, but I still messed up badly. How can I avoid this?

My mother said it actually looked like I meant the scarf to be in a wave pattern.  Tongue

I'm never wearing it outside, so it's now wrapped around my stuffed elephant.

How long does it take to get the hang of this?
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Do crochet skirts 'seat' like knit ones? on: April 07, 2007 09:18:35 AM
I'm reluctant to knit skirts because of the 'seat' factor - when it stretches and bubbles around your butt.

Does crochet do that? I've seen some really cute crochet skirts and would love to make one.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Teach Yourself Visually Crocheting Question on: April 05, 2007 05:16:08 AM
The pattern for the sweater doesn't have any gauge listed. I've tried to find errata on the web, but haven't found any. Is there anyone who has made this sweater who can tell me the appropriate gauge?

Thanks!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How to do entrelac? on: January 26, 2007 08:59:16 AM
Can anyone point me to a tutorial or explanation of how to do entrelac? Online or in a magazine or book is fine.

Thanks!
6  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Would anyone else like to see Sublime see needle threaders and blank potholders? on: May 25, 2006 09:09:35 PM
I know there's one threader in a kit, but could there be a separate kit of just threaders?

And I just saw the cool post here where someone embroidered on potholders and thought that might be pretty cool too.
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Need help threading needle on: October 12, 2005 12:46:56 AM
I CANNOT, for the life of me, thread embroidery thread through my needle. I have one of those hand needle threaders, but no matter which way I try, I can't get it to work.

Can anybody explain how to do or provide a link with this info?
8  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / How to use those H-U-G-E tea towels? on: October 06, 2005 03:20:26 PM
I ordered a tea towel blank from Sublime Stitching and noticed it is a *lot* bigger than the ones that came with the Stitch-It kit. I'm not that design-savvy, so I'm wondering if anyone has any examples of how they did the layout and placed the transfers. I'm wondering if the proportion of the transfers to towel dimensions will make things look markedly different.
9  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Problems getting Sublime Stitching newsletter on: September 16, 2005 10:03:13 AM
I've tried to sign up for the email newsletter twice (once yesterday and once a few months ago). I get the page that says, "Success!" and then states that I'll receive an email where I can verify my info. I've never gotten that email (both times). Is there a site glitch or am I doing something wrong?
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Where to find Halloween images/transfers? on: August 30, 2005 03:48:38 AM
Does anyone know of a place (company, store) or website with embroidery-friendly Halloween images?
