11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Sparkly Sweet 16 Party Dress on: June 19, 2006 06:39:28 PM
Sooo for my 16th birthday I asked for a new dressform and a bunch of a new fabric to make a fun dress for my party! I bought a few nice patterns and my sparkly fabric only to star cutting the lining and realize the pattern was at least 5 sizes bigger than I thought Roll Eyes
Soo I just sorta made it up as I went and finished it a few days before my party! I was soo happy as it was my first dress, my first big non-reconstruction project, and my first pattern-less project Grin I also figured out how to put a ribbon hem on the bottom (without ironing or pre-planning of course, I'm such a procrastinator) Tongue
ANYWAY, here's my dress on my newly received dress form!!

Annnd the cake I made to match my dress!! Haha I'm such a crafty nerd, I love it! Wink

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / when robot met muffin on: April 20, 2006 05:50:08 PM
Once upon a time there was a robot and his muffin.

Then the robot got really hungry.

So he pulled out his fork and attacked the muffin.

Then the robot was happy. The end.

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / earflaps make me happy on: April 12, 2006 03:05:44 PM
For my friend's 16th birthday he requested a very particular hat; brown, orange and white stripes, ear flaps, and a "manly" pom pom. He requests knit hats so particularly he's my favorite to knit for Grin
Anyway, after a few weeks and some testing of the "manly" pom pom theory, I was able to produce this for a surprise party. He has worn it non-stop since recieving it, except for now because he put some holes in it on a trip to Mexico.. crazy teenage boys Roll Eyes
Finally here's a few pictures, and one of us together because the colors look much better on him than me Cheesy

I used TLC Essentials yarn, size 8 DPNS and the largest size of this pattern:

I looooove this tutorial and have made a few hats from it. I used the biggest size this time as I really don't like gauge and he has a big head Wink
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / i heart gnomes, earflaps & donuts on: December 30, 2005 12:20:16 AM
So I was gonna post all my Christmas knitting in one post BUT I'm a procrastinating queen and didn't get it all done Roll Eyes

So here are a few things I got done this past week or so Cheesy

This is the hat I made for my best friend's boyfriend.. He got sooo excited when I told him I can knit earflaps.. hahaha he's a crazy kid Grin The second picture is to show what I did for the ends (oh, and I'm a camera whore, yes I admit it.. hahaha)

Here's a wonderful garden stature gnome I knit for one of my good friends. I modified another pattern online.. I really didn't want to see him go, I'd grown to love David my gnome Wink

And then, lastly, the pink donut with rainbow sprinkles for one of my good guy friends. When I made this, I sorta had a tiny crush on him so I worked extra hard... Goodness I'm such a nerd Roll Eyes
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Pink Bear & Matching Scarf on: December 15, 2005 12:52:49 PM
Mkay so I should be doing my Christmas knitting.. but every year my youth group goes to Mexico a few times and around Christmas time we can give gifts to the little kids. So I signed up to give a gift to a little 6 year old girl, and with only two days left to make a gift I made these Smiley

That's my little sister, envious of the bear & scarf Grin

Yes, his face is funny looking. But he's special and he's for a 6 year old. She'll love him all the same Smiley

Using this pattern: http://www.barddance.org/knittering/bluesbighugbear.htm for the bear, I used Red Heart & Caron Perfect Match and then the same Red Heart and some of the Target $1 yarn for the scarf.

I've decided I really love knitting toys.. now to knit my other Christmas presents! I'm such a procrastinator Grin

17  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Pink & Green Mini Tote on: June 19, 2005 08:36:33 PM
I had always wanted to crochet a purse in the round, but found no patterns I liked, so just sorta wung it Grin
What do ya think?

I had a second pic, a close up of the flower/button but I'm having some Craftser-picture-uploading problems.. Tongue
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Somebody NEEDS to knit this... on: June 10, 2005 10:47:05 PM

All I can say is WHOA. My parents always joke that I need to knit a car cozy...
19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Little Blue Riding Hood ~ My Groovy Capelet <3 on: May 25, 2005 02:01:29 PM
Once upon a time...
a girl found an ugly sweater in her mom's closet. It was cotton/acrylic and a very pretty blue, so she quickly unraveled it! After many failed projects with it, she stumbled upon a groovy pattern:
http://web.archive.org/web/20011030193314/http://www.cei.net/~vchisam/groovy/7207.html
She didn't have enough yarn to make the whole cape Cry, but worked on it until she ran out of yarn.
So 2 weeks later she unveiled it on a trip to the movies, and now she lives happily ever after, skipping about in her blue capelet!
The End

Now for the pictures:

20  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Yay Lacy Summer Scarf! on: May 18, 2005 04:18:06 PM
So I had to make a birthday present for a friend like three days before her birthday and had nothing to make (and I couldn't buy more yarn) so I made up a basic pattern based on a few things I had seen for a lacy-ish summer scarf! I then made a handful of flowers (as I ALWAYS do) to go with her scarf Grin

http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/24041jillscarf1.jpg
Here's me looking dumb, modeling it to show the length.. ignore the messy room Roll Eyes

http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/24041jillscarf2.jpg
The ends look rounded, but they really just curl a bit.. And the flowers are all pins, so they come off!

http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/24041jillscarf3.jpg
A close up of the pattern Smiley

Tell me what you guys think! I'm a better knitter than crocheter, but I love both crafts <3333
Oh yeah, and I'm making two more scarves. A green and sparkly one for me and a pink one for a friend using this pattern Smiley
