1  plaster paper anatomical heart (w/ wannabe photographer pictures! yay!) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by bespectacled on: December 30, 2008 05:11:16 PM
for my final project in a photography class last semester, i decided i needed an anatomical heart. hey, don't question, i just needed it.
so i made one out of this crazy cool stuff called something along the lines on plaster paper. it's like pre-cut-into-strips papier mache, which i put onto a paper and styrofoam based i created. i then painted it and voila! awkward, not quite anatomical looking heart.
but it makes me happy, so it works :]
excuse my ramblings, here's what you all want anyway... pictures! (oh and forgive their awkwardness.. i only had extra stuff from the actual shoot. ha)

one of the actual final shots (ignore my brother in costume.. we had a bit too much fun)

a lame close up

4  Gun shy? Hardly! in Knitting: Completed Projects by bespectacled on: March 15, 2007 10:49:57 PM
So recently I moseyed on over to MochiMochiLand.com and asked to test one of her lovely toy patterns. I picked Gun Shy and this is what I made!

and for scale:

I used some Caron yarns I had laying around and the recommended needles. It was a wonderful pattern, and now I'm terribly excited cause I have a toy gun to run around and pretend I'm cool with! Grin

(Oh and in case you were wondering, the pattern isn't up for sale quite yet but will be shortly.)

Okay I posted on this knitalong forever ago and finally got some pictures.. Roll Eyes
I did the Big Blue Beret in some random black acrylic. I cut off the decreases way early and I'm a bit unsure with the final product.. I haven't braved it out in public yet Cheesy
Here ya go! (Not the best but I was having serious hat picture problems today.. haha)

6  Re: Knitty's Danica in Knitalongs by bespectacled on: March 15, 2007 05:19:49 PM
Okay I know I posted on this thread forever ago BUT for my own random closure, I just wanted to post a finished shot to show the colors.
I used four balls of Noro Kureyon in #52 with size US8 needles. The finished length is about 90".. Craziness! I didn't even realize how long it was because I had so much fun knitting it Grin
So here ya go! (Oh and I altered the pic a bit so you could get the true colors)

And the knitalong is officially finished for me Smiley

Ooh krafty_kelly, I love yours in SWS! The pink is terribly pretty Grin

And I finally finished mine with four balls of Noro Kureyon in #52. I was gonna get three, but I like my scarves long and I like the unblocked texture. It's a tad bit scratchy but it makes me happy Cheesy
I'll take a better daylight pic to better show the colors in a day or so, but here's my I-couldn't-resist-I'm-a-camera-whore picture Roll Eyes

8  Re: Double knitting knitalong! in Knitalongs by bespectacled on: January 09, 2007 05:26:11 PM
Mkay here's a rough idea of what I have right now. Sorry it isn't a full view and the picture isn't incredible.. I was lazy so I used my phone and my desk Cheesy

It's about 40" long and I'm aiming for at least 60" or so.. So much for the Christmas idea... Haha. Oh and neekie, I also hold the yarn the english way and can't wrap the yarn around and keep an even tension to save my life, so I feel your pain Grin

9  Robotic and cuddly?! in CHALLENGE 15 ENTRIES by bespectacled on: October 05, 2006 02:28:32 PM

I had this idea in my head for a little while.. and though the preliminary sketch came out quite a bit different, I'm still happy with my first freeform amigurumi Grin
I love his antenna, it has wire in it for bendy-action! He also looks a bit sad.. maybe because of a lack in female bear robots? Cheesy

10  I shall call her.. Mini Me!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by bespectacled on: July 03, 2006 10:06:04 PM
Soo I like to knit random things. And I've always wanted to knit myself. So here we go Grin

Wow, that photo of me is funny.. usually I'm making silly faces Roll Eyes
I used a bunch of random acrylic from my stash and heavily vamped around with the "Knit Your Own Rockstar" pattern in SnBN. My family asked if it was a voodoo doll and questioned my sanity Wink

(And yes, my converse are actually that pink.. hehe)
