OK so, Ive decided to be a sea nymph, got a plan for my webbed hands, my gills, my makeup. Haven't really decided on my hair but as of right now I am unsure about actual costume. I have a corset from last Halloween and figured I'd use that, only problem is it is black and white so I'll have to change that somehow. For a skirt I was thinking something along the lines of taking a fishing net and making some kind of fairy type skirt out of that. Unsure on most aspects of this costume and all advice and ideas are so much appreciated. 

ok so i am a novice. i dont sew much and have decided i really want to start making some clothes. i figured a pinafore/jumper is looking like a fairly simple thing to make. any advice to someone who has never made one before? also, i have about 4 pairs of socks that are so cute that my bf bought me but he neglected to look at sizes and got a childs sock, lol. i want to find some way to use them, they are tube socks and 2 pairs have little skull and crossbones on them and the other are grey with cupcakes. im not picky and am open to any ideas you guys have.Thanks SO SO much for any help yall can give me.
