I've been having a battle with some logo work I am doing for a local bakery and my friend Custer (Yes he is related to that General Custer, pretty awesome I think) who is a real Designer who actually has a job and business cards and such has been helping me out.  I told him I need a Mini-Custer to sit on a chair next to my keyboard and give me advice.  So I built him a chair, he has yet to come through with his mini-me though.  I made it out of sports tape and toothpicks and I am WAY to proud of it. I mean really, I like this thing far to much, I stare at it all the time.

I've seen a few IP address "home sweet home" cross stitches floating around Craftster so I decided to make my own.  Its the first stitch I have done since Middle school and I don't know why I ever gave it up! Cross stitch is so relaxing.

This second one is for my husbands old roommates, who after a few years of living on their own have all gotten back together in one house.  They are addicted to memes and have chosen a steak with a lightning bolt as their mascot. As my hubby and I will be missing their house-warming party I decided to make the Fitzhugh Guys a gift.  I'm told its proudly hanging on their front door.

I knew what I was going to make for this challenge as soon as it was posted.  The end product was nothing like what I planned, but its still AWESOME.  To give credit where it is due, I got the how-to for the books from http://www.instructables.com/id/Recycle-lamp-shade/. 

I call it English Major's Revenge, because . . . well, I am an English major, and after all those year of books sticking it too me I wanted to pay them back.  Its almost like a hunter and his collection of animal heads.  I have conquered books, and mounted them as trophies on my wall!


The lights are LED's so they get no where near hot enough to burn the paper, or even warm my cold hands.


The green part is an old window shutter, and the message can be changed as I feel like it.


We moved our dinner table to an area of the apartment not directly under a light fixture, so this was a necessity.  At least if we wanted to see our food. =]

Ever since seeing this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=366907.0 owl purse made by 85%confusion I've had to make one of my own.  It ended up looking nothing similar, but I had to give homage.

I used felt, and because my sewing machine is still broken I just did some simple hand sewing.  The lining is one of my favorite Happy Skull shirt which no longer fits. And because I believe in the law of three, here are 2 more pictures.

Once there was an adorable footy PJ who was found hiding in a drawer right as it was about to be grow out of. 

I loved the cute cherries on it, so I took on my first reconstructing project.  Its pieced together from the PJs, dress and pants, all 3-6 months.  I used yarn to sew it together, for more of a rag-doll feel.

In apartments the question is, to decorate, or not to decorate.  Can I stand the boring white walls?  Or will painting and hanging be worth the work of taking it all down in a year or two.  For my daughters bedroom I wanted to make something awesome!  But also something mobile that we can take to the next  apartment or <fingers crossed> house.

This Castle was made from a HD TV box.  Every bit of it, from the rampart to the flower box.  I got to give my hubby props for coming up with the idea.
