2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Shiny New Craftroom in Red and Turquoise!!! (Image Heavy) on: August 01, 2008 06:20:08 AM
So like everyone else, I have to /drool at your crafty goodness....

now that that's done...I love how you've organized everything, especially those little jars. I have been using pencil boxes and little plastic organizers but they don't look so pretty and I end up trying to hide them. So you've given me plenty of ideas on how I can make my crafty corner look a little neater so that it doesn't stand out in my bedroom as much.

Wonderful job though, looks very clean and bright and any crafter would love to have such a room! Smiley
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Floral Paintings to help a nakid wall... on: August 01, 2008 05:48:01 AM
So after sitting on the couch recovering some surgery for 4 days and watching nothing but cooking, crafting and decorating shows - I HAD to do something. We have one of those livingroom...dinnin groom...into the kitchen type layouts in our house, so there is a long blank wall in between two windows. Well I didn't want to toss up more photo frames and a mirror wouldn't work over the couch, so I thought I'd paint something. I had two 24x30in stretched canvases in my stash so I pulled colors from our couches and color scheme and came up with these. They're slightly abstract, but I really enjoy how they came out. The colors are a little on the dark side, which looks great against our light walls and carpets. Anyways, Thanks for looking!

and just to show them up on the wall...

I still have to finish the edges, I'm just going to paint a nice dark brown/black on the sides to "frame" them.
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My New Camera :) on: May 09, 2008 11:49:31 AM
So thanks to good ol' Uncle Sam, I can afford to get a new digital camera. I went with the Canon Powershot A590 IS and so far I love it. I've only had it a few hours and I'm stuck at work so I can't do a lot with it. Anyways, this is a photo I took with the lovely Macro setting.

Thanks and I'm sure to have many more photos soon. Smiley

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Macro Photo Challenge - Rose from Admin's Day on: April 23, 2008 11:01:42 AM
I was invited to a wonderful Admin's Day luncheon and as a give we all were given roses. I thought it would be nice to use it as a model for my photo entry. I did alter the photo some using a basic program on my computer. I mostly just used it to brighten the photo. Because I'm at work, I can't use a flash so the rose came out a little dark. I just used Word to group the photos together and then used a program called "print key" to take a screen shot of them all grouped together. I also used it to add a bored to help finish the photo a little. It's not too clear because I used my basic Easyshare camera and it's so hard to get a good close up shot. I can't wait to get a better camera...

anyways, here is my entry!

edit: I changed it to one photo rather than using three.

Great job! I don't know if I envy you more for thinking of this or for getting those canvases for $1 each, lol. It looks really nice and I love the idea of the cutting board on top. I'm really starting to get too many ideas from this challenge!

I just used hot glue to attach the sides to the back and bottom. Im going to use the small nails that came with the hanging kit tonight to give it more support.
Oh and it is pretty funny that I have such an adult holder with mostly my 4 year olds dvds, lol. Those are the ones that are always tossed around the house though.  Smiley
