1  Archie Comic Shoes! in Shoes: Completed Projects by sunnykene on: August 28, 2011 10:01:32 PM
These are my new shoes!  I absolutely adore them Smiley

I bought some old Archie comics at the library, along with some Batman comics (so expect Batman shoes soon!) and I figured I would have fun making Archie shoes.  So, a lot of Modge Podge and almost six episodes of F.r.i.e.n.d.s. later...

I spent a lot of time picking panels that were bright and/or funny.

Thanks for looking!

2  Under The Sea Shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by sunnykene on: June 07, 2011 10:40:10 PM
This is my first post here on Craftster.  I have been lurking for over a year now, and I have finally gotten around to sharing my own creations.  Just to tell you a bit about myself, I am a teenager living in Saskatchewan, Canada.  I come from a relatively creative family, my siblings and I are all into arts/music/baking, etc.  I love paper crafting, sewing, painting shirts/clothing, polymer clay and drawing, and I also love seeing other people's crafts.
I haven't been painting shoes for very long, these are only the third pair.  The other two had a more realistic approach, so I decided to do something a little different and go for the cartoon style.  And "Under the Sea" shoes were born!

(By the way, I have no idea if I'm posting the images correctly, so please tell me if I'm not so I can correct it)

^The shoes were about $7.00.

^I painted the background first.  Trying to paint an underwater background was something I've never done before.  Smiley

^So, this is what both shoes looked like after two hours of painting.

^I painted the details, and then outlined them with my black fabric marker.

^Sorry for the blurriness.  The painted patch on the heel says "P Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney"  And yes, it is a scuba diving pig.

Thanks for looking Smiley
