These are my new shoes!  I absolutely adore them Smiley 

I bought some old Archie comics at the library, along with some Batman comics (so expect Batman shoes soon!) and I figured I would have fun making Archie shoes.  So, a lot of Modge Podge and almost six episodes of F.r.i.e.n.d.s. later...


I spent a lot of time picking panels that were bright and/or funny.

This is my first post here on Craftster.  I have been lurking for over a year now, and I have finally gotten around to sharing my own creations.  Just to tell you a bit about myself, I am a teenager living in Saskatchewan, Canada.  I come from a relatively creative family, my siblings and I are all into arts/music/baking, etc.  I love paper crafting, sewing, painting shirts/clothing, polymer clay and drawing, and I also love seeing other people's crafts.  
I haven't been painting shoes for very long, these are only the third pair.  The other two had a more realistic approach, so I decided to do something a little different and go for the cartoon style.  And "Under the Sea" shoes were born!  

(By the way, I have no idea if I'm posting the images correctly, so please tell me if I'm not so I can correct it)


^The shoes were about $7.00.  

^I painted the background first.  Trying to paint an underwater background was something I've never done before.  Smiley

^So, this is what both shoes looked like after two hours of painting.  

^I painted the details, and then outlined them with my black fabric marker.  


^Sorry for the blurriness.  The painted patch on the heel says "P Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney"  And yes, it is a scuba diving pig.
