There is a story behind this cross stitch/quote.
My Ex-boyfriend from a few years back, who is also A -VERY- Dear friend of mine - Kristen - and myself were talking one night about him moving away (SOBSOB). I told him that I was either going to pick up a subversive cross stitch kit, or make my own offensive cross stitch and send it along to him. During the conversation, he said that if He could cross stitch, he'd take quotes that another friend of ours made, and turn them into cross stitch patterns. That friend is Darryl.
About a week and a half before this, we were out at our beloved Maple Leaf lounge (My second home) in Sydney, NS to see Windom Earl and the Maynards play. Kristen, Darryl and myself as usual, drank our faces off and became Extremely intoxicated. During the show (it was Darryl's Show) Kristen told us a story. It led to me and Kristen screaming "It's hotter than Two Rats F*@king in a Dirty Sock". Darryl was walking around Yelling "It's Hotter than Balls in here". It went from that, to 'Dirty Balls'.
It was Quite the fun time. So, During my conversation with Kristen, I told him I had wanted to Take Quotes from our Beloved Message Board and Do something crafty with them, So the first one I was going to Do was a Darryl Quote.
Before I finished it, I was at another show helping out at the bar while a band played (Clothes make the Man). I showed the 'Owner' of the Bar, JJ, whom we are all good friends with. He wants it Framed and Hung on the wall. He also requested I continue them. I also decided I should show Darryl, since he had NO clue what I was doing, and I did not know how he'd react.
Darryl was Most pleased with this. He clapped his Hands and Kept yelling Profanities about how awesome it was. We decided that once I get a frame for it, it's going up on the wall above the cash register.
Here is the first one:

I've already received one request for another one of these, from another local show go'er. Despite how simple this is, I'm tickled Pink about how it came out. Another reason I'm so happy about this is - I found out yesterday evening that Kristen is leaving next week.

:: Dont be fooled - we love eachother. ::
I'm very upset about this, but very happy for him, as this is what he wants to do - Needs to do even. This cross stitch hanging at my Favorite bar, will serve as a reminder of one of many excellent evenings there with one of my dearest friends, who I will probably not see in a VERY long time after Tuesday - Unless I win the Lottery. He shall be Missed Here in Cape Breton.
I plan on doing more. I'm currently on the lookout for some Fonts for 14count cross stitch. If anyone has any suggestions? Also - is there anything smaller than 14 count fabric available?
