1  This book is property of the Half-Blood Prince [image heavy!] in Completed Projects by magentarose on: October 16, 2011 06:07:45 PM
I've been having Post-Potter Depression. Not gonna lie, I've been rereading the books, rewatching the movies, and reading tons of fanfiction since the last movie came out over the summer. And I've been looking through the galleries here from all of the past Harry Potter swaps looking for some inspiration for my next project. One thing that I saw a lot of were Advanced Potion Making books, and I just had to have my own. So here's my version of the book!

Here's a close up of the cover detail.

The full cover.

Written on the inside cover, 'This book is property of the Half-Blood Prince'.

Sectumsempra--for enemies!

A shot showing the 'page' details

While making this I noticed that there were no pictures anywhere of what the back of the book was supposed to look like. Instead of just leaving it blue, I stole a quote from the Half-Blood Prince himself to write on the back (:

2  Messrs. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot & Prongs Present... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by magentarose on: September 13, 2011 06:01:23 PM
On my first attempt ever using freezer paper I made this tank top featuring the Marauders for my bestie. I'm quite proud of how it turned out Smiley

The image I used for a stencil was found here.

3  Tax E. Deermy in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by magentarose on: September 09, 2011 10:44:11 PM
My friend is heading back to college in a couple weeks, and this year he's got an apartment along with a few other of his friends. Being the manly men that they are, they needed some masculine decorations, I thought. And what's more manly than a taxidermy animal that you've shot and mounted yourself? Not much. But for the love of animals, we didn't want to kill anything. So with some foam boards, scissors, glue, and paint, he and I made this bad boy:

For some reason, the name Tax E. Deermy was ridiculously funny to us. Or punny, I should say. Wink

4  My BFF........doodle painting style :P in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by magentarose on: June 13, 2011 01:08:32 PM
A couple weeks ago I painted my doodle painting style self-portrait, and since then all of my friends have requested that I make them one. They've actually gotten pretty vicious fighting over who I'm going to paint first and whatnot. But I ended up painting one for my best friend first, because as much as I love all of my friends I just like her best. (Plus she nagged me about it the least, that also helped move her up on the list xP). So without further ado, here she is  Wink

Just like last time, I used a bunch of random odds and ends on this. I used clay to form her nose and her glasses. The black lines in the background are Q-tips with the cotton ends taken off that I glued onto the canvas before I started painting. I used rhinestones for buttons on the cardigan and a ribbon for the bow in her hair.

Thanks for looking Smiley

5  Me, myself, and I......doodle-painting style :P in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by magentarose on: May 29, 2011 07:33:45 PM
I was in Spanish class the other day, and we were going over the vocabulary that you would use to describe yourself (ojos verdes, pelo largo y marron, yada yada), and I started doodling in the corner of my book my 'self-portrait'. It was kind of cute, so when I got home I sat at my desk and drew it on a canvas. It looked kind of plain, so I grabbed whatever was near me and sort of glued it all to the canvas. And my doodle portrait was born!  Cheesy

I used a lot of random odds and ends in this thing because I wanted a lot of different textures on this. The nose I molded out of polymer clay, so it's three-dimensional and sticks out from the face. The silver spots in the corner are bird seed, the silver lines on the left are those little red sticks that come in those Ritz cracker snack things. The earring was a rhinestone, and the dress was sequins, because I quite like shiny things  Wink

6  Peacock Shoes! in Shoes: Completed Projects by magentarose on: April 28, 2011 10:24:04 PM
I ran into a peacock the other day. Well, I didn't literally run into a peacock, but I saw one while driving home from a friends house. It was gorgeous, and because peacocks are by far my favorite animals, inspiration struck.

After several hours and accidentally painting my hair green, these are what I came up with  Smiley

They got a little shiny from the sealer I used, but aside from that I really like how they turned out. They're by far the cutest $5 pair of shoes I've ever owned  Tongue

7  Marauder's Map Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by magentarose on: April 20, 2011 12:02:01 PM
I'm a major Harry Potter fan, and after seeing this bag by Papilionette and this one by Lilak Tygress, I knew had to have my own.

Just one problem--I didn't have any money around to go buy some fabric to make myself a bag. Instead I found my old wallet that I didn't use anymore, just lying on my desk, looking sad and collecting dust, and I decided to give it new life.

I just painted it with fabric paint I had leftover from another project, then drew everything on with a fabric marker and sealed it with some Mod Podge, and voila!

My Marauder's Map wallet was born  Cheesy
