11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: First Sweater--Need help with Pattern! on: October 05, 2006 05:34:41 AM
It sounds like you bind off 3 stitches at the neck's edge and use whatever decrease method you were using before for the armhole.  I would need to read the pattern to know for sure, but that would be my best guess. Also, patterns tend to come with images of what the pieces look like before you sew them together.  I would use those images as a guide.  Having knit 2 adult sweaters and 4 baby sweaters before, not a single one had the same kind of neck shaping.

Good luck! Wink

By default, crocheting that hat for your Blythe makes you and her VERY cool.  I have to learn how to crochet one of these days.

15  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: Vogue's Issey Miyake V2556 on: September 17, 2006 05:12:51 PM
I cut this bad boy out the weekend after I first posted, but my sewing machine did decide to die that weekend Cry... On a happy note, a few weeks ago, I got one from '67 that was still in the box (so freakin awesome) for $15.00.  This WILL be my next sewing project (... when my job gets down to 50 hours per week)!

So, I made her for the Creepy Cute Doll Swap 2... just thought I'd share.

BTW, I named her "Black Widow" hence the colors of her dress.  She's made from muslin (skin), red lining (probably synthetic), black lining, and black lace.  Her boots and face were painted on but everything else was either hand sewn or done w/ the sewing machine.
19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Comic Book/Superhero Swap Gallery on: August 03, 2006 11:23:42 AM
I was so shocked when I opened the package this morning.  She more than made up for waiting this long.  It is absolutely amazing!  I loved the chalkboard and journal the most.  I think I am going to use it for my knitting notes as I have quite a few (including that little something for you!).  Once again, thank you so much for everything.
20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Not Your Grammy's Pincushion Swap ROUND 2 Gallery on: August 01, 2006 07:19:46 AM
My partner is out of town, so I don't know when these are going to get posted.  Granted, they are kinda granny-ish, I still like them.

I used the Flora pattern on Knitty.com to make the petals, then I kind of made it up as I went along.
