racehorse87 said she received her shawl from me today, so here it is:

it was kind of psycho to get it done as fast as I did as it was only my 4th real crochet project, but Beth was really good about bearing with me.  Also, it greatly increased my crochet speed!

Hey!  I'm in Florida! Here are my wishes:

1. decorated or stenciled t-shirts or tank tops or casual shirts.  I want something kinda nice, that I won't feel like a slob wearing.  I'm a women's large medium, so if they are cut small I'll need a large.  Or you can PM for measurements.

2. something felted.  Either needle or wet felt.  Anything creative.  I love the elephant here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=89145.from0#new
And I love all this felted stuff: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=15115

3. Bandannas -- I'm going to South America soon to follow monkeys around in the forest, and I need bandannas to put my hair back.  anything decorated or sewn from scrap cloth or anything I can use in a do-rag manner would be great.  Just don't send anything you'll be too sad about it getting really really dirty.  thanks, Drea4545!!!!

About me: I'm 29, I'm an anthropology grad student who studies monkeys.  I love sparkly and shiny things, bright colors, animals, and retro-kitschy things from when I was a child (Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony).  I am a vegetarian and do not wear leather, also my ears are not pierced, so no earrings! I'm pretty easy to please -- anything unique or fun is good by me.

13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: knot in middle of brand new skein...regular occurrence? on: April 16, 2006 04:07:57 PM
I am working with some Lion brand microspun right now, and the first skein was full of tangles!  I spent forever trying to untangle it, but then just moved to another skein.  I should contact the company about it, it was really terrible.

Awesome.  I'll probably leave them slidey though, I like it.

Just a question, were the beads still glued in place when they got to you? From the picture, it looks as if they may have slid around a bit...

Most were, but like one had slid.  After two wearings more are sliding, but I just push them back into place and they seem to stay there pretty well.

I wondered how they were attached to the wire.

Here are some pictures of the awesome felted bead necklace Amerigirl05 made for me!  She also sent some great earrings and a bookmark from Mexico, and as a bonus it all arrived on my birthday!

Here's a re-post of my list, with four more books added.  Maybe this will help bump the thread?  I am in the US but will ship anywhere.

The Cider House Rules by John Irving (mine is paperback, but has a different cover)

The Reader by Bernhard Schlink

The Book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton (same cover, but no Oprah badge)

Shadow and Claw by Gene Wolfe

I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb

Killing Time in St. Cloud by Judith Guest and Rebecca Hill

Freaky Deaky by Elmore Leonard
