22  Halter dress help in Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions by Sylwa on: July 07, 2012 07:09:32 AM
Hi ladies and gents  Smiley

I had this pretty fabric sitting in my stash for a year or two and decided its time to make something simple for my daughter. I drew the dress, cut out a simple pattern and all that, did what I could last night and then had my daughter try it on this morning, it fits nice except the back doesnt fit close to body, as in it kinda stands out and there's a lot of space between her back and the dress, so I was thinking about putting darts in it but then she wont be able to put it on without a zipper. I also thought about just ruffling it a bit but then I wouldnt be able to put on the nice green rim I wanted all around. Are there any other solutions for this? Or would be the easiest thing to just suck it up and have the rim only on the front and ruffle the back with elastic so it fits nice and she can still put it on?
Hope this makes sence. I took these two pictures with how much I would need to ruffle it so it fits nice. She ran off before I could take a picture with the dress on her  Grin

25  Skyrim T-shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Sylwa on: June 09, 2012 08:48:00 PM
My boyfriend has been playing skyrim nonstop since I gave it to him at Christmas and so for fathers day I tried my hand at stenciling a t-shirt. I am pretty pleased with it. Used the freezer paper method, it was so much fun and I cant wait to do more!

I have received from the very talented Plumcrafty
She has sent me two wonderful pieces, one is fabric applique on card and is really really pretty, the other one is a print with oil inks. It is super shiny and my favorite I think.

This is how it came, nicely wrapped in paper with a ribbon protected by two beautiful postcards that I plan on framing as well.

here's a picture of both pieces

and here are scans of each

the scan doesnt do it justice so if you have better pictures Plumcrafty please post them too.

ohh I am so glad you got the package I was so worried they were going to mail it back  Tongue
Those cakes are twinkies I personally don't think they are that special but that is because I was born and grew up in europe so I am used to different kind of things - such as the stuff you sent me  Grin  but my boyfriend told me I should mail you some because they are one of a kind and are sort of famous in the US I think, I've heard some jokes too that twinkies will last through nuclear bombs and such.
And the pop tarts we eat them just like they are, but try toasting them in the toaster, they are good that way too.
The loose chocolate were mini peanut butter cups, me and my daughter love them but dont eat them anymore because of my sons allergy. We hide in a bathroom every once in a while so we can have some without him being exposed  Grin
The potato chips are specific to the state Maryland, I never seen them when I lived in Chicago and I havent seen them while traveling either so I HAD to mail them. They have a very unique flavor. I wanted to send you some old bay seasoning too but then forgot.

The box was pinterest inspired. I wasnt sure what to make at first but then I saw that you pined the woodburned box and I really wanted to try woodburning so I googled some celtic images and that is the one I liked the best. I am glad you liked it.
I am sorry about the inside, I kinda messed up a bit with gluing the green felt in.

I am sorry I forgot to include a note about everything in the package, if you have any questions just ask me please.
I would love to do some personal swaps for kinder eggs  Grin
oh an also I was wondering if you could tell me how do I make the frangipans from the mix you sent me? I know a little german and I think I know what the directions say but your language is too different from german so I want to make sure I got it right  Grin

and just a close up of that woodburning because I am really proud of it and I had SO MUCH FUN working on it  Smiley

So we already ate some of the goodies, the kids destroyed the kinder eggs, my boyfriend actually loved them as much as the kids did. He told me I should become best friends with Lilibet because he wants more kinder eggs and those mini Frangipane (delicious).

Here are pictures of what I received.

First the kids attacking the box   Grin

The whole lot

A close up, unfortunately the kinder eggs got crushed but that didnt stop my kids from eating them and enjoying the toys Smiley also there was a smudge on my camera's lens so the pics a bit blurry in the middle

I cannot wait to try that marzipan!

frangipane mix- YAY and look at those little jam jars on top left, so cute!

And my crafted item, WE LOVE HIM, Boyfriend already hung him up above our entrance door, he looks awesome there Smiley
