21  Re: Givers and Needers Swap Rnd 11 (SIGN UPS 1/2/13 - 1/13/13; SO 1/25 & 2/4) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Sylwa on: January 08, 2013 09:40:38 AM
so I am really not good with fabric and stuff so I think it's quilting fabric. I have 4 giant totes full of that stuff that was given to me. I will go through it tonight and put a list together and sign up tomorrow. There is an upholstery fabric there too I think. Will have to look. I have tons!

actually here is a pic of some of it, took it when I first got it and was asking on here what to use it for. The replies said it's quilting cotton, does that sound right?

22  baby murloc from warcraft in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Sylwa on: October 08, 2012 08:10:50 AM
Hiya everyone
I was in a world of warcraft swap and I made this crochet Murky for my awesome partner. I finally have time to post pictures. This was also my first amigurumi I made without a pattern. And second amigurumi ever. The first one I made was a sea turtle with babies from book Amigurumi two. I really love making them, hoping to find more time in the future for more projects as my kids love them.

I had problems with the head and tail fins but someone on ravelry helped me with that. It took me about 2 weeks of trial and errors to finally finish it.
My bf's coworker requested I made him 2 of them, one with veil and one with top hat for his wedding, good thing I wrote down most of what I've done. Maybe I will write a pattern in the future since there are none available right now.

26  very hungry caterpillar photo prop, hat and headbands. img heavy in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sylwa on: August 28, 2012 09:15:17 AM
I have been a crochet addict since I first decided to make a baby hat for my unborn daughter in April and I've been going to bed at 2am here and there because Ijust cant put that darn hook down

Here are few things I made over the past week.

A friend of mine asked me to make her a very hungry caterpillar photo prop for her 3 month old, I used my 4 month old as a model. I absolutely love how it turned out, it was really easy to make even without  a pattern.

here is a work in progress shot with the first hat I made, I didnt like the yarn being different so I made the other hat later on

So then I made a big flower and put it on the first hat

here is how I made the flower http://i.mimibazar.cz/h/bc/12/090623/14/p4166.jpg (not sure what it's called, a diagram??)
and finally 2 headbands

I got the pattern for the headbands here http://osuraccoon.blogspot.com/2011/03/easy-newborn-headband-crochet-pattern.html

if I knew crochet was so easy I'd learn it long time ago. I learned by watching youtube videos  Grin

I still havent really started much, but I got all my supplies now and just need to get to it, it's been a bit challenging with all the kids up my butt

I've been loving WoW though, and I found out that the fossilized raptor is way cooler green  Grin

29  Re: 4X6 Art Swap Round 4 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Sylwa on: July 29, 2012 07:28:38 AM
sorry for posting picture so late, been a little bit crazy around here

Here's what I received from mlookyloo1

it's a Deco Art Post Card from 1920

What is that paper you used Mlooky? I am only familiar with watercolor and I love the texture of the one you used. And also what did you draw/paint it with, kinda looks like a mix of pencil and some kind of watercolor/acrylic ?? Looks great, I really love it!

30  newborn sweater + pattern link in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sylwa on: July 25, 2012 04:15:33 PM
when I was 36 weeks pregnant I decided I want to learn to crochet so I can make my baby a hat, so I did lots of baby hats. Then I found this youtube video with a tutorial for baby sweater http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxs3rybO8EI

and it took me awhile and by the time I was finished the sweater was a bit tight on my daughter. But I am a new addict to crochet  Cheesy

Here is a work in progress of the sweater

and here it is finished, you can see how big she's gotten and how little time I had to work on it.

I am only sad that she got to wear it one time and since she is number 3 I wont have any other little girl to put in it. Hopefully someone around me will get pregnant soon so it can be worn more than once  Smiley

Oh and the whole thing was so easy to make, following the instructions in that video was really great.
