1  messenger patchwork bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Merry Bobbins on: February 01, 2011 08:42:55 AM
I just made this bag and I LOVE it!!
it is a little sloppy in a couple places, but it was for me so I got over it...

I did not use a pattern (I rarely do, if I do I usually make it myself)
I had these squares of patchwork i had made over the years and this purple cord fabric i recently got that i am in love with..I had though about making a wrap skirt but wanted to work on a bag instead9 Been really into bags and wallets and such lately)

I am going to add a zipper on the top....

this is the bag

3  Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Merry Bobbins on: January 28, 2011 07:19:28 AM
I have three tattoos.  I designed all of them and drew one of them onto my skin and then had it tattooed.

they are all about 20 years old now.

this one was my first:  I designed it from two separate knots I combined.  the middle part came from a  "celtic coloring book" it was the corners of a stained glass window in the book, and the outer part was based off a celtic knot flash piece I had seen....

this tattoo is a phoenix.  i had designed it, then my artist did this tat freehand off of my design.
yes the phoenix is going into the flame.  now I am thinking about having it finally rise from the ashes instead of going down into flames, due to life now....

I drew this one directly onto my foot and my friend tattoed it, I have never gotten it colored in because I could never decide what i wanted at first and then i found out i really like doing things like henna or markers and such and switching it up.  it is like my own little coloring book i suppose...

4  Reversible Lunch Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Merry Bobbins on: January 26, 2011 07:32:39 AM
I made this yesterday for my man.  He wants to start taking my amazing cooking for lunch, he can't tolerate anymore kitchen nightmares! (last time he went to "one of the best places in town" a mouse jumped out of the ceiling!!!)

I made it with great fabric on both sides, so I ended up overcasting the seams (I had never done that yet and wanted to play with it because I want to make a crazy quilt) and then reinforced that since it would be carrying stuff with a stitch for stretch fabrics.  I was lucky to receive an amazing Brother sewing machine last year for valentine's day and I am still discovering just how awesome it is!

I have always done cross stitch but lately have been trying to get better at embroidery, so I stitched a "W" his last initial on it, that is on both sides.

I LOVE the plaid fabric, I recently scored it for one or two dollars a yard.  I made him pajama pants, me pajama pants, me a long skirt, and this bag so far!

I did not do the straps and made some slight modifications, but I LOVE IT!
I bought a TON of this gorgeous light weight purple corduroy for a dollar a yard!!!!
I think with a couple of more mods it could be a great wallet!!!

10  Wallet in Crochet: Completed Projects by Merry Bobbins on: December 16, 2010 01:06:05 PM
I just made this wallet in less than an hour for a Christmas present.
It was very easy!!

I did double chains because I wanted it to be quick, 14 rows of them.
Then I sewed the sides.
Then I made a "button" for the flap.  I have not put a snap on yet, but plan on doing that.
The button is a little off center, but I am okay with that.
The button is just a circle of fuzzy bumpy yarn.
