I'm fairly new to jewelery making so I have a question for all you pros!  I want to make a necklace for an 8 year old, how long should I make it?  It's a gift for her 1st Communion, so I don't want to ask her mom.  She's a normal sized kid.

I have a bunch of Simplicity (and maybe McCall's) patterns that I will never use.  Most of them are still unused patterns for women's clothes (skirts, a dress patt, shorts/pants) in size 4-6-8.  I'd like to give these away to someone who would be able to use them and I'd prefer to sent them all to one person.
