Sorry I can't help you with a sub for the Soft Boucle, but, I did buy 7 skeins of it last weekend and can't find a pattern to use.  I've looked at the Bernat site and can't find the survey you took.  Do you still have a link to the survey?

The way I read it, she knit 3, yo, k in back loop, yo, knit 4 and ended up with 10 sts.

Cables really aren't that hard to do.  The Irish Hiking Scarf was my first project with cables and it was pretty easy.  I think I knit faster when I do cables because I like to watch them appear. Grin

Thanks Nixx.  So, it's one piece, rib, mock rib and rib again then the top rib is seamed to the bottom rib?

Does anyone have a picture of the shrug that you've finished knitting but not seamed up yet?  I'd love to knit this but I'm confused.  Is it knit in one or two pieces?
