I'm glad you all liked it.
Believe me I was freaking out about expenses. Our budget was super tight. We actually had to cater our own wedding. My entire family pitched in cooking the day before the wedding. The day OF the wedding I was running to cvs (or thrifty) to buy makeup because I could not find mine!
It was stressful but I was so glad when it was over. We used disposable plastic plates and cups and fake silverware to make cleanup a breeze.
As for arrangements, to keep costs down use whatever flowers are in season. Sunflowers are my favorite but I would not have used them if they were not in season. I contacted the growers directly rather than get them from flower shops. In the end each arrangement broke down to less than 10 dollars each. I got doilies, picture frames and aquarium stones from the dollar store.
My dress cost about $100 to make. The veil about $8. The bouquet was about $30 but I used the same materials to make all the boutonnieres and a small bouquet of a bridesmaid (my maid of honor was a guy so he didn't need one)
Tissue paper is super inexpensive and I just used fishing line to hang the poofs.
I learned A LOT about planning weddings because I had to do all the planning myself. I'm more than happy to offer any advice to any brides-to-be
