21  Cowl-A-Bunga in Knitting: Completed Projects by spirals420 on: January 02, 2009 11:48:45 AM
I knit my first cowl. how very exciting.
Using Malabrigo yarn almost a whole skein on size 4.5mm 7 us circs cast on 100 sts and knit forever, like 10 inches and then switch to smaller needles. i used size 5 i k2p2 ribbed for a few inches and cast off loosely. easy peasy... i love it!  and am currently making another out of scrap malabrigo yarns....
thanks for reading. now the pic!

i had a pretty fun hair color this summer. i dyed over a bleached out blondey blue head of hair with HOT PINK and i got this... its a mix of hot pink, fuscia,, blue and purples.... so amazing...

its now a totally faded out blonde pile of garbage... but, i do own more blue and more hot pink so im hoping to try and recreate this fantastic pile of awesomeness....

25  Crocheted Hippie Hood in Crochet: Completed Projects by spirals420 on: September 29, 2008 09:07:25 PM
I started crocheting this hood yesturday and finished her up today and i am super excited about it...
It is crocheted with Patons Rumor yarn 2.5ish balls of the main color and a like halfish of the contrasting color...
i guess i should say, it has really thick long braids as ties but one could easily make a scarf attached to it instead...

thanks!

26  Re: nifty christmas light pictures in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by spirals420 on: June 12, 2008 05:25:47 PM
That is one of my favourite modes, my old camera had it, but I haven't figured out how to replicate it with my new one.  I love the effect of the trailing lights it makes!
The one with the blown lights posted by rhymewithorange is so fun and whimsical. But just the lights alone can be so fun, they can make such neat patterns.  I always tried to make hearts when I took photos like that.

i did make a heart out a street light... it took MANY tries.

this is our upstairs neighbors cat Nibbs...

and this is taken in our "old mill" that now is being taken over by nature but the walls are used as canvas for graffiti... theres some amazing stuff in there... and it gets "rotated" frequently an new stuff is always going up...

i think thats it for now...

28  Advice with knit sweater i want to copy. *with pics* in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by spirals420 on: May 28, 2008 10:44:42 PM
ok this beautiful girl came into my work a few weeks ago and she was wearing an AMAZING sweater. store bought.
 pics.

closer look at cuff

it has an off center zipper, and the collar and the cuffs are knit sideways... and it has buttons. and what looks like a i-cord edging for the zipper... oh and the back is just plain.

i think im going to omit the popcorn/bobble stitch, i am not as thin as she is and i think it wouldnt be as figure flattering to have lumps on me... but a girl at the yarn store recommended maybe double moss stitch.. i like that idea..

another question i have is i want to make this as easy as possible... and i know the formulas for top down raglans but i think it would be nice bottom up... then i can just knit the sleeve cuffs and pick up stitches and go up from there... but im a little intimidated by arm hole shaping and such...

ok, lots o questions... i know... but its an amazing sweater.  um what else... oh im knitting it with a really pretty deep green/blue color. chunky weight. the name of the yarn is forgotten at the moment but i shall update...

anywho. just thought i would show off this wonderful sweater and see if any of you folk have ideas...

thanks for looking!

Modified to add-
this is the  color. almost accurate... it is a little darker then this i would say

and the yarn is Cascade Pastaza....
