I'm so excited that this is my first post here! I really didn't know where else to really put this. The "spaceship" part is made of slurpie lids, and the alien is made of felt fabric with googly-eyes hot glued to it!
I've been sewing for a little over a year but I have to say that I don't think any of my projects were worthy until now! Since last October I had this beautiful turquoise acrylic silk stashed away for something very special. So finally during our family Thanksgiving feast (Thanksgiving in Canada is Oct.10), I was on gram's sewing machine. I swear, it was probably all that sugar from the pop, but I found enough courage to conjure up this.......
Ever since I started crocheting, I've always aspired to make a poncho! So here she is! I was inspired to make this when I saw pictures of the Fall2011 collection from Chanel, there was this jacket with a cluster of roses on one shoulder that caught my attention. It's a little shoter than I'd like it to be but I like it anyway!
Man oh man! It's been forever since I've even seen this site! It's good to be back! I've been perfecting my crocheting craft and I have so much to share! Recently I've been making 'animal ears' hats. I made a pink bear one for a friend and for myself, a butterfly's antenae (although truth be told, it was supposed to be bunny ears).
Here's a pic of the side:
Next hat is my domo inspired hat. The reason I call him Russian Domo is because the style of the hat is that of one of those flat topped Russian hats, or at least my friends say so
Last night I was making a hat. When I finished it I decided that it still needed some work done. The back of it seemed to look like the head of a very familiar mollusk. Y'all must know what I'm talking about, I mean Octopuses are everywhere on Craftster! So as of yesterday, one could say I've jumped on the bandwagon! Here is Mista Octo!
A little note: The above picture is the back of the hat!
I know right? Complete opposite from my evil cupcake hairband! It would've been more cutesy, you see, I was very tempted to add little wings to the side. I did, but they were getting to be flimsy. so I folded them over, and they are now the white bow tie-looking things coming to the middle. Meh, it looks cutesy enough.
This weekend I was racking my brain on what on earth I could do with all this brown and pink-brown-green-white yarn. The brown yarn has little specks of colour all over, which gives it a cake or cupcake batter look. I really didn't want to make another cupcake hat, so I decided to make a cupcake headband. There was no way my cupcake would be plain-jane, so I gave it a face, a rather evil face.....
Note to Self: Move carefully when he is upon the head, he may go rabid at any time!
