used to live in Delmont, now living in Monroeville, will be living in Irwin (hopefully before the end of the year). Was a group ever organized? Please let me know, I would love to get together with other crafters!

I made a quilt just like this, in batiks, as a remembrance of all the trips my friends and I make to the Amish Country in PA. I used batiks, just to make it mine, and it was 52" x 52". I did go the traditional way and quilted the whole thing by hands, following the patterns that I picked up from an old book that I have on Amish Handcrafts. I am not the fastest hand quilter (by any stretch of the imagination) so it took me 2 years to quilt it. So my advice is if you feel comfortable with machine quilting go for it. That being said, maybe you are a much faster hand quilter than me!! I bet it will look awesome no matter what.
