This is a quick hard-sided black clutch purse I made for a night out last week. I've been doing these for years, and thought I'd post this one here, because I found this site while searching to see if anyone else had a method that made it faster to toss together this time .

I didn't find one; though I'll bet it Does exist...somewhere. I came up with the design before there was an internet, but talented women are nothing new, so y'all might have seen something similar and have some ideas on how to whack it out faster/better. This one is made from the traditional Ugly Dress, using a dollar store cutting board and a folder for form, and a recycled magnetic closure. I've made these larger, smaller, and using chain or ribbon handles. This one is just plain black embroidered silk, though I added a 'darn, lost an earring' decoration to dress it up.  About the photo- the flap is the same size as purse, not larger: and the purse is not flat, it's about 2 inches in depth (the inside is 13wX4.5hX2d) so all of my junk fits in it with room to spare.
