1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Thought I would say hello on: November 01, 2010 08:01:15 PM
Hello everybody!

My name is Ferd and I'm brand new to the forum, although I have lurked around for a while. I'm a longtime crafter and seamstress and I'm very happy to be in the company of so many talented people.

I learned to sew when I was 18 and now I'm 34, and I have done a great deal of crafty projects over the years. I have sewn costumes professionally for local Shakespeare Festivals, dinner theater and community theater, and have also done a lot of commission work for cosplayers and fangirls as well as goodies for friends, family and even myself. Wink

Mainly I do costume work, but I also love to do stuff with a fannish twist. I am a HUGE Batman fan and also love Lois Lane (Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane are my favorite fandom couple ever) but I am have a huge love for muppets and am responsible for Kermit Bale (link: http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/27350111.html?page=1 )  That should give you an idea about how obsessive I can be towards silly stuff.  Wink

I love to sew and create unique and funky clothing as well as movie costume reproductions. I also do hand smocking and my new obsession is recycling vintage and second hand materials into garments.

I'm married and live in Florida and am a swoony fangirl who finds inspiration from movies, comics and just about everywhere else.

I look forward to sharing some goodies with you!
