I used Summer Tweed and a sequin-esque carry along. I am done with the body and ready to start the neck, but looking at the modifications, I think I want to rip back to the start of the lace, remove the purl ridges and keep it more simple. I and small but curvy so I like a clean line.

Waffling on this for sure. Do I want to wind all those skeins up again? But, will I be happy with it as is?
 Huh

The body is done on mine. I added some rows before and after the hip shaping. I need to pickup around the neck. My question is what i am doing for the sleeves. I think that the lace part, even though it fits great is kinda bulky and I wonder if I want that same bulk on my arms? Would that visually add more bulk to the waist since they are next to each other?

During our thunderstorm this evening, I finished the lace and purl section of the waist and took some pics of the tunic on me, in really awful light....like no light, but you can see the carry along yarn and the color.

Goldfishgirl, I am using the Rowan Summer Tweed in the maroon-red colorway, it is named something saucy. I got gauge for the body on 5s and am using an Italian carry along with it for the lace, using a 2. It is killing my fingers! I really have a hard time seeing the lace panel also, but I slipped the sweater on and it fits great so I will continue. Perhaps my next sweater will be something real tweedy, in a rich brown or rust.

I will try and post pictures tomorrow. This is the second attempt for me, as my first was just too loose with the 7s for the body.

pixie purls, I adore that teal aqua silk! I think using a smaller needle makes for a firmer fabric which is working well with my summer silk. I am about four rows from the arm hole but I will be trying it on. I really want a nice shapely fit.

I am happy to see everyone doing so well.

Grrr. Somehow, I lost my tension and my gauge is all OFF! I got to the purling at the waist and thought I would recheck for size and it was huge. I rechecked the gauge, it was at 20/4. I even went down a needle and had it when I started the thing.

RIIIPPPEEEEDDD out everything, tonight I will try another needle.

Those who have used the same yarn for the lace, what have you found with the smaller needle and guage? I will be using a 5 or maybe for on the body now, I wonder what I will get with the lace section.

Koshare, when you added the extra rows to avoid the purling at the boobs, had you already joined and knit in the round or did you just SS until the right length and THEN join? I will be there in a bit and really like it so far. Thanks to you gals for spotting those errors. This KAL seems to be going great. I will get a picture of my progress so far maybe tomorrow.

Using the drawing listed, I am in between a small and med so I am going to knit the small and just try it on and adjust if needed. I think the silk will stretch and I want a nice snug fit.

Thanks for the heads up on the lace pattern. I just cast on today, at row 12. Can't wait.

Ok. Bought the yarn yesterday. Mentioned the sale at the LYS. Instead of the Aurora 8 that I was thinking, I got Summer Tweed at 30% off in color Smoulder, a berry wine color, 70% silk, which I think lends itself nicely to the original yarn. For the lace, I just bought a random Italian carry along yarn, in reds and berry. Not much of a novelty yarn person, so aside from the suggested yarn I will settle for this.

During the sale, they don'd wind yarn, so I will get the skeins done on Monday but I think I will try my hand at one ball using the nostepinne I bought at the Fiber Festival in May. I'd at least be able to cast on too.

Looking at some of the substitutions, I think I will go with Aurora 8, I love that wool and own five skeins in a pale pink, but perhaps I will get some more or go with a richer Fall color? For the lace section.......What have you all been thinking?
