31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / domino magnets on: March 09, 2005 07:47:37 PM
Here are some domino magnets that I am making for sale at a local spa (and hopefully my website).  I have cards that I make and sell that are similar to this, but thought that these would serve dual purposes as all-inclusive mini-cards/gifts.

I had posted a topic about these in the forum about selling your wares and someone there gave me an idea to pair the magnet with a card.  Unfortunately, that would be something that I'd have to sell for $8-10 to make up for the intensity of the labor.  I figure,  if I sell them separately, then it doesn't look like such an investment for the buyer.

What do you think about pricing?  The dominos are about 1"X2" and have super-strong magnets on them.    They have various embellishments on them--wire, mesh, beads, bamboo.  They aren't hard to make, but I do have to let them dry since they are coated for sealing.

thanks!
32  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / is this a saleable item? on: February 27, 2005 07:43:51 PM
I'm in the process of looking into a website and deciding what wares I will sell.  I already have some card styles that I currently make.  I'm trying to decide if this type of magnet is a saleable item and how much it should be sold for.  I will package it in a small cellophane envelope for sale.   It's made with wire, washi paper and some paper mesh and a coat of diamond glaze over the whole thing.

What do you think?

The magnets are super strong and of good quality, but just wanted to make sure that these would be worth my time.  They're fairly easy to make, I guess.
33  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / domino creations on: February 23, 2005 08:43:29 PM
I guess this post would go under trinkets and jewelry.  These are some ornaments and magnets that I made from dominoes at Christmastime.

These are ornaments that I used as gift tags.

This is a set of magnets made for a friend.  The dog's name is Azul and each magnet has a letter of his name and also an attribute of the dog.  I packaged them in a see-through tin with a collar for the dog that I got off of Ebay.

I love working with dominoes!!  They're so versatile and can be made into jewelry and lots of different things.

Hi all, I'm new here and I'm hoping there's not some phantom post out there that will make me look totally stupid (When I tried to post my message it said that I had already posted it, but I didn't see it anywhere.)

First, thanks to all of you for sharing all your great ideas.   It's so fun to see what others are up to and to get inspiration from all their wonderful ideas.

Thanks again!
