1  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap - June 2012 - GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by SecretAgentStarchild on: July 06, 2012 01:17:10 PM
I have a ton of ATCs to post! I got them all at various times during the last week, but due to so many crazyscary thunderstorms attacking NW Ohio and constantly knocking my power out (and my internet out for longer!), I haven't been able to hop online and post them!

So here we go! Also, I apologize ahead of time - I took pictures of these cards about five separate times, and although I had beautiful lighting, some of them are a bit darker and just *slightly* blurred. After the fifth attempt, I gave up and just accepted that my phone is being silly. Soooo, if any of you lovely ladies took better pictures, please, feel free to post them! All of my ATCs are absolutely beautiful, and I'm afraid that my images don't due them justice!

First off, I got not one, but TWO Dreamcatcher ATCs from Pilarfarmer! Aren't they lovely? The one of the left is so incredibly neat - it is made from real sinew and leather, and has beautiful tiny beads! What a wonderful mixed media card!

Here is a neat one from Bunny1Kenobi! It's called "Who Was That Masked Man?" This one made me smile a LOT - it has some of the most famous masks - and it was fun to identify them! Can you guess them all? I was able to identify four of the six! But what a great idea!

Calluna sent me two ATCs too! The first one fits several of my themes - Panish, Mythical, Pagan Free Spirit! I gasped when I first saw it - it is so neat! Not one does it have Pan (or the Green Man!), but it also has a small figure in the corner that looks like they are dancing, glowing with a spiral of dots like energy coming out of their heart! Beautiful! The second is fantastic too, another Free-Spirit piece! And it is perfect! It shows a naked woman with her arms spread wide in delight, her clothes behind her. It's called "Escape". It made me giggle, cuz one of my jobs is as a fine-art nude model for artists, and that's how I always feel when I get to prance around without clothes - absolutely free! Thank you, Calluna!

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, is an amazing card from Sunnydawn! It's for my mythical creatures theme, and it is a centaur! The most delightful and adorable centaur, who I want to alternately hug and romp around on adventures with! Centaurs are one of my absolute favorite creatures, so I squeed when I opened this card! I wish my camera could have worked properly for this - the background is much more green than it appears in this pic!

Thank you soooooo much, guys! I absolutely love each and every card, and I feel spoiled with the extras that were included! You all have such talent, and I'm so glad I have little pieces of your art to add to my collection!

Squeee! I received not one, but TWO amazing ATCs from the lovely Jennden!

The first is a beautiful blue color, and this image doesn't do it justice! She included so many of my favorite things - moons and stars, pentacles, and the feathers have the most beautiful shimmer to them!

The second one is my favorite - my jaw dropped when I pulled it out of the envelope! She made me my very own dreamcatcher! The top is the exact size of an ATC - with lovely brown and tan beads in the most delightful tribal shades that match the feathers perfectly! And the center is a metal pendant with all sorts of stars!  I seriously did all sorts of happy squees when I saw it!

Thank you so much, Jennden! They are perfect!

3  Re: WWP Yule Swap Round 24 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SecretAgentStarchild on: December 18, 2010 08:06:22 PM
I received my package from PixieFireFly and it was greeted with tons of squeals!!

First off, there is a lovely stocking! It is made with beautiful holly fabric, and the top part is the softestsoftest suede fabric that I just want to snuggle with!

And a headress holly crown! I love hats and headthings of all sorts - but I don't have any crowns! So I was superduperthrilled to get one! It fits my head perfectly and it looks beautiful and has long flowing ribbon dangling down! I love this!

And here was a GIANT box of Yuletide taffies! Flavors include caramel, gingerbread, eggnog, and buttered rum! They have been mostly devoured already - delicious!

Earrings! They are sooo elegant! This picture really doesn't do them justice! Especially the pair on the right - my favorite! The top bead is a neat blueish green with gold flecks, and the bottom bead is a shimmery purplygrey! Absolutely beautiful!!!!

A bunch of red candles and some of that holly fabric! I think it shall be perfect for an altar cloth! I don't have one for Yule, so I am superexcited to get started on that! Perfection!

This is my favorite!!!!! There were a lot of squeals when I pulled this out of the box! It is a crocheted (or maybe knitted?) witch hat!! Or a Yule gnome hat - as my boyfriend keeps trying to insist while he steals it! It is awesome!!!!!

Thank you sosososososo much, PixieFireFly! You were a great partner and I was thrilled with everything I received!! I wish I had made more for you!! Thank you once again! *huggles*

4  Re: WWP Mabon Swap Round 22 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SecretAgentStarchild on: September 14, 2010 07:37:40 PM
I came home from work today to find an extremely yummy smelling package waiting on my front porch. As kmichelle_craftyfae sent the package on Saturday, I wasn't even close to expecting it! But the postal gods were smiling upon me, and this package arrived in time to make my day/week/month.

I can't stop smiling. Lovely craftyfae, you are too amazing!

Okay, on to the goodies! I apologize ahead of time - halfway through, my camera decided to throw a temper-tantrum and refuse to take anything but blurry pictures... I will try taking better ones of them tomorrow, or maybe my awesome swap partner can post her copies... But yeah. The pictures don't do any of these justice!

This is the whole shebang! I feel totally spoiled! *happy dances*

Here is a copy of the Mabon Story that I thought was absolutely lovely! It tells the tale of a knight named Kyllwch who falls in love with the beautiful Olwen, and must rescue Mabon in order to wed his love. If you are on the Craftster Coven blog, you have read the story. I am honored to own my own copy!

And if you read the story, you know that Kyllwch receives the help of five sacred animals to complete the task. And Kmichele_craftyfae took those animals and shared them with me on a beautiful goldenyellow Mabon altar bowl! I can't wait to put this on my altar!

Remember how I mentioned that my package smelled amazing? Well, here's why: She included some absolutely delicious homemade incense! I have a big thing for incense, which I didn't tell kmichele, so I was quite thrilled to find this surprise! It is Mabon Incense and there is quite a bunch, which makes me super happy! I am going to be burning this all of the time! So good!

Kmichele and I talked a lot about papercrafting, and I mentioned how I was really interested in ATCs and wanted to start making them and recieiving them! So guess what? She included my very first ATC and I absolutely LOVE it! It's a beautiful witch standing behind all sorts of potion bottles, while black cats weave amongst them!

Okay, here is where my camera started to act a bit wonky.... So I apologize for the fuzziness. She sent me along this beautiful rich brown offering bowl, perfect for autumn!

And some extra goodies! A piece of quartz, a piece of amethyst, and a lovely Goddess pendant that I can't wait to wear!

Aaaannnd, these next three pieces are my absolute favorite! kmichele took these clothes-pins and made the most exquisite little magnets! I feel so terrible for my camera's bad quality because there is sooo much detail on these little pieces! I hope my partner will post better pictures of these, because they are truly awesome!

First off - the wild forest faerie! She has  a forest green skirt and a tiny leather corset and superneat brown hair with the tiniest braids and green beads and even a tiny feather dangling from her tresses! She even has neat faerie makeup with beautiful designs drawn beneath her eye. It is so elaborate! The colors are a bit off in the picture - her hair is more of a goldeny reddish brown, not so much blond.

Again, so much detail! The legs are painted into fur and he has tiny hooves and a leather belt! The greatest part - he has his own set of pan-pipes and the most amazing little horns that curl out of his head! Wow! Again, the picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

And the third one, my absolute favorite! Kmichele, if you can, PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE post your picture? Because this one came out the worst and this was the one I adore the most. If not, I will take more pictures tomorrow until one comes out that shows its fabulousness.

Now, both me and kmichele LOVELOVELOVED the movie Avatar. And especially the people of Pandora, the Na'vi. So what did she do? She made me my own little Tsu'tey, my favorite character! He is soooo neat! She got his black hair down and his braid and the best tail, the red beads in his hair. You can see Na'vi markings against his skin, and he even has little fangs! She even gave him a leather loincloth and his own spear! *huggles the magnet to her* Screw the fridge - he is gonna sleep beside my bed to give me amazing Na'vi hometree dreams!

Seriously.... Epic beyond words.

Kmichele, thank you for being such an AMAZING partner and for your wonderful friendship and for giving me gifts whose thoughtfulness almost brought me to tears. Thank you.

Now I am all nervous for you to get your presents! They aren't as Mabony and I don't have your crafty talent, but man, now I wish I had stuffed even more in there!

5  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap-September 2010 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SecretAgentStarchild on: September 14, 2010 06:55:18 PM
I received my ATC card from muddy21! Actually, it arrived over the weekend but I didn't get it until today!

The theme was Jungle, and she sure delivered! I tried to take a good picture of it, but it kept coming up extremely blue-tinted. I think I need to fiddle around and learn my camera settings better.... But it is so lovely! Thank you, muddy! The reds are absolutely GORGEOUS and I lovelovelove the little ants crossing across the leaves!

Muddy, if you have a better picture, feel free to upload it! If not, I will try to take a better picture tomorrow. Maybe I need a little more sunshine... *sighs* But thank you sososo much! I adore it!
