3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentines crafts on: January 13, 2006 07:47:42 AM
Well, this isn't exactly a craft, but it's what I'm throwing together.
I go to school at Miami U, so I'm not far from Jungle Jim's, this kick-ass giant store with foods from all over the world, think world market x 1000.  So i am going to go get boxes of candy, chocolates and other treats from all over the world, and stick a little note that says I LOVE YOU! in the language of the country that it's from.  I'm also probably going to get some sparkling wine, or sparkling grapejuice and 2 wine glasses filled with little silly heart trinkets and do everything up in a big gift basket.
I will probably eat most of the chocolate, so it's like a gift to myself too!   Grin
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: Ceramic Post-card mug on: November 17, 2005 04:40:59 PM
Are there any brands your recommend? Glazes?

Glazes, underglazed and undercoats can get pretty expensive.  I reccomend Gare undercoats and underglazes, depending on if you are using bisque or greenware.
Hope that helps!

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Quilts on: October 11, 2005 05:16:29 PM
I made my boyfriend a bandanna quilt last year for Christmas.  It was so much easier than cutting up old tee shirts.  I just sewed 16 bandannas together (its a huge quilt!), added some batting and fleece backing and put some nice silky binding on the edges.  I made a little throw pillow to go with it form the same materials.  Bandannas are also good because you can make it in all different colors, or in just a few!  He absolutely loves it, but I set myself up for a challenge this Christmas because I have to top that!  Smiley

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Crafty Movie Buffs? on: March 02, 2005 11:49:38 AM
My younger brother will turn 17 in April and for his birthday he is moving into our basement and redecorating our family room and the spare bedroom.  He is a total movie buff and was going to hang framed posters on the wall, and try to do a movie theme, but i wanted to help him make it cooler, my gift to him.
He really likes planet hollywood, the theme of it & everything; He loves Quentin Tarrintino movies (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, etc..) and Tim Burton.   I was thinking maybe a round table with jack skellington's face as the top, but i'd like to do more.  But if anyone has cool ideas.. movie related...anything that would add to his room, i would love to hear!  Pillows, wall stuff, anything goes!
Thanks  A Million!!
