12  3 IN 1- Wallet, Duck and Hair Bow! :) Lots of Duct Tape! in CHALLENGE 67 ENTRIES by happyface:) on: October 09, 2011 07:54:54 PM
UPDATE: I made the tutorial for those of you who asked: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=393998.0

For the challenge, I started out wanting to make a just a wallet but with duct tape woven together then sewn on my machine. Unfortunately, the sewing idea was a disaster and my machine's needle ended up all sticky and overall it just didn't work. So I taped it together.

Halfway through the wallet, I decided to make a duct tape duck for no apparent reason except that it sounds cool.

The wallet was too plain and I used to make duct tape bows a few years ago, so I made a bow, connected it to a bobby pin and stuck the bobby pin through the woven part of the wallet. The bow can be taken off and worn as a hair bow then reattached whenever.

Originally, the wallet and duck were separate, but I couldn't decide which to enter so I connected the duct to the wallet with a duct tape chain. Smiley I love my new wallet.

13  Holy Craft, Batman!- Batman & Robin Necklaces UPDATE: Added Joker. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by happyface:) on: August 17, 2011 06:26:28 PM
Holy Awesomeness, Batman! Look what I did!
I took apart an old necklace that I never wear and made two interchangeable Batman and Robin pendents. Love it!

I'm thinking about putting together a Joker pendent too.
Pendents are made of shrinky-dinks and the jump rings from the old necklace.

UPDATE: I decided to make the Joker pendent. Smiley I think it turned out awesome. The oven made it kinda wonky but it adds to the whole crazy Joker thing. Smiley

14  Gangrene Cell Stuffie in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by happyface:) on: August 17, 2011 11:14:06 AM
I made this stuffie for the One Tiny Stuffie Swap back in February and it's probably one of my first projects that I was REALLY proud of.

I had to sew her completely by hand and it was definitely a learning experience. I think she turned out great and my partner loved her. She's stuffed with love and a bunch of scrap fleece material. Smiley

15  Mini Black Dress- The First Non-Reconstructed Dress I've Ever Made. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by happyface:) on: August 17, 2011 10:43:20 AM
This is the first dress (or any clothing item for that matter) that I've made without it being a reconstruction. I must say that I'm super proud of myself.

Top Left corner shows how I intend to wear it and Bottom Right show just the dress by itself. It's kinda see through so I intend to wear a tank or something under it whenever I wear it. I didn't notice it was see through until after the pictures were taken and such. Then the other two pictures are the accessories I paired with it, my favorite birdhouse necklace and a silky light pink tie around my waist.

Tell me what you think, please. Smiley

16  Pokemon Pouches And More! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by happyface:) on: July 29, 2011 11:05:56 PM
I did the Pokemon Swap Round 4 and this is what I made for my partner: VampAracely.

First is the Big Pokemon Pouch: A Psyduck and a Chansey card are sewn between two layers of plastic.

Small Pokemon Pouch (Both sides): Chansey on one side and the evolution Blissey on the other.

Pikachu Magnet. Cut a Pikachu card and glued it to an old magnet then cut it to size.

Pokemon Keychain: Charzard, Pikachu and Psyduck. ShrinkyDinks and I used the Washer Necklace Tutorial to make the Charzard center.

Psyduck ShrinkyDink. I made it to test the ShrinkyDink paper and different coloring materials and figured I'd send it to her even though it doesn't have a use.

Pokemon Gym Badges Generation 1 + PokeBox I put them in. I covered the lid with Pokemon wrapping paper and attached Christmas ornament hooks to each badge. Originally supposed to be Mix-n-Match earrings but the Shrinky Dinks didn't shrink as much as I would've hoped.

I really liked this swap and my partner sent me some amazing crafts! Smiley

17  Magazine Cut Out Shelf in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by happyface:) on: July 27, 2011 08:50:17 PM

This is a project I did several months ago and I never got around to posting it.
It was originally one of those shelves that had padded and fabric sides and the rest was painted black. Originally, I was just going to rip up the fabric padded sides and paint it black to match but I never got around to it and then I got the bright idea to cover it in magazine clippings.

The second shelf. Smiley DISNEY!

One side and the inside of the other side.

The other side and the inside of the other side.

The underside. Smiley "Recycle Your Style"

I glued the magazine pieces on with a regular glue stick then put several coats of polyurethane spray to make sure the pieces would stay on. There are a few places that are a little loose now though.

I haven't figured out exactly where to put it though.

18  Re: Pokemon Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by happyface:) on: July 03, 2011 05:16:21 PM
YAY I'm finally home from my vacation in Galveston, Texas so I finally got to open my package from VampAracely!
This is what she made:

(I've already had to fight my little puppy to get the pokeball back two or three times.)

And she sent a ton of yummy goodies:

(Can't wait to eat them.)

And my cat is enjoying the box that they came in:

I hope I got everything. The package had a letter from the USPS telling me that the box she sent it in got messed up and they had to rewrap the stuff. Basically, the box got destroyed so they threw everything into a new box and cut out the send to, send from, and the little USPS sticker then taped the crap out of the box. This is probably why it took FOREVER for the box to get to me.
VampAracely, let me know if anything is missing. And THANK YOU SO MUCH! EVERYTHING IS SO COOL!

19  Pokeball Ear Muffs in Completed Projects by happyface:) on: April 13, 2011 04:23:32 PM
**I wasn't sure where to post this**

My boyfriend and his band decided that they all needed to wear ear muffs for practicing so that they won't be hearing background noises while they practice. He had this pair of red ear muffs sitting around and both he and I are huge Pokemon nerds (members of our high school Pokemon Battle Club even). So we decided to paint his ear muffs to look like Pokeballs. We think the ear muffs turned out nice!

We didn't have the right materials to make the word POKEMON look right on the top and the paint on there dried so fast that it cracked and started to come off. Suggestion? I'm not sure what kind of paint we should have used or how we could get POKEMON on the top.

E V E R Y T H I N G is so awesome! I love it all!
Camelama, your kitty is so CUTE, both the big one and the little one. Smiley
The owl and the frankenstein are so awesome. I just finished reading Frankenstein for school Smiley

And here is the new addition to my little family:

This is Night and his favorite stuffed squeaky hippo. I had to put a new squeaker in it because the squeaker was broken.

Here he is taking a nap. He had a very eventful day yesterday when he joined the family and he was so tired.

Just thought I'd share my happy news about my new puppy and my first small dog. He's not supposed to grow but maybe a pound or two more. He's a Papillon and (I think) Dachshund/Wiener mix. Smiley

*** By the way, I'm proud to say that he's a SPCA puppy. Smiley
