1951  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Anime/Manga swap round 6 (Signups through 4/1, Sendouts 5/15) on: March 31, 2011 12:56:44 PM
I read your thread on "help japan" and I really admire you for doing something about it Ruby. You are the kind of person that can inspire so much in people with your generosity and big heart -^^-  Kiss I'm sincerely glad you joined us. I'm looking forward to seeing what you (and everyone else  Wink ) does with this swap ^^

Make sure that when you post pics in the gallery to also post them in the Ongoing poppet along thread too ^^ It'll be fun to see them grouped together in a thread that'll probably get more traffic than our gallery when it's finished T-T
I'm currently making an Alice Cullen poppet for a swap of mine. I really wanted faux fur for her hair but I only need like, a fat quarter of some dark brown; probably even less since she's actually just a punkin. A quarter of a yard is like $10.00 Cry So I'm experimenting with felt. I saw a Howl and a Jareth poppet made with felt hair and it turned out pretty good ^^

Just a little heads up/promotion....the thread is probably going to have a surge of new poppets soon because of of the "plethora of poppets" swap ^^ Please look forward to it! I know this thread has been an inspiration for all of us ^^

BTW...PUAMELIA---your girls are SO VERY CUTE!! The little ballet slippers are perfect  Cheesy I love how they contrast and compliment each other. I'm in love with Violet's hair
@Phina.....I LOVE that you crafted yourself and your friend! It's harder to make more realistic dolls I think. Very well done! The read head is wearing one of my favorite outfits: t-shirt and plaid skirt!  Grin

once my camera is charged and I empty it out I'll upload the pics! Roll Eyes I really adore them! @^^@ My youngest daughter stole the bunny *sobs* But I'm okay with it. She'll tire of it in a day once she finds a new toy XD Then I can snuggle him again. I'm trying to find a way to attach him to a purse so I cant take him shopping with me. I think I might name him Sherbert ^^

Awww it's alright ^^ I think Tygermane is doing the sorting and partnering since there's not a lot of people. I'm happy just being the cheerleader and keeping tabs on everyone ^^ I'll be organizing the 7th round in the Summer after school is out for everyone and then I'll get my taste of the fun  Cheesy
on another note....IF PPL ARE GOING TO SCAN MANGA PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF OTAKUS, PUT THE DARN CHAPTERS IN ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *clutches head in pain* I was reading a manga last night and I got soooo confused because it was jumping around so much....well that's because it was OUT OF ORDER!!!!  Angry I finally gave into the migraine and went to bed without finishing, a virtual first for me. I'm a little bit OCD....when I start something, especially books or manga, I HAVE to finish. I can't leave it behind me  Roll Eyes *Siiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhh*

rossie, you are one LUCKY GIRL to have silvermoon as your partner. Seriously! I personal swapped with her and JUST got my package this morning!  Shocked Shocked She really pays attention to the things you like and her crafting is just gorgeous! I got an orange amigurumi bunny with a huge happy smiling face ^^ and some wicked cool fingerless gloves! I was on cloud 9000, lol. The gloves STILL haven't come off even though it's kinda warm in Ventura.
Anyway---yeah. I have bragging rights because Silvermoon is the best!  Grin Hope that it's okay that I posted here ^^

Just FYI- I don't have computer access all the time, so i may not reply much on the forum, but I'm still in and really excited about starting my crafting! Cheesy
Thanks for letting us know Finchy ^^ I'm glad thet you're still hanging with us despite your limitations. I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT for partners!! I'm uber excited!! Although since we only have 13 for the swap I think my being co-org is kind of obsolete  Cry

I recently bought some alovea suede in red, white and blue colors (not meaning to be patriotic  Roll Eyes ) and the only flesh tone I have is like....deep brown-tan. I needed one of each color for a specific poppet but I've never been able to find a "good" flesh tone. I guess white will do for a human-esque poppet. Hmmmmz........  Smiley I wish I had the dilemma "which color should I do for the new poppet" Lol  Cheesy

Good! you could always do what I did and make a couple of poppet bodies beforehand. That way it's not so much to do once the swap begins Wink
You know...that's a good idea O.o I think I'll whip up a couple bodies today if I can. I need to buy some more joints though. Living so far from a craft store sucks  Cry
