1951  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Embroidery Hoopla Round 4 on: January 07, 2011 10:16:05 AM
AWW those are EASY to do!! I can whip one up easy...no pattern required XD (Seriously.... cross-stitch is easier than embroidery). But I LOVE the first one! I had an idea to do one like that with a Beach Pin up girl and the men leering at her. It'd be great since I live in California on the beach  Cool
I love THIS ONE best of all!!! http://www.etsy.com/transaction/39601286?show_panel=true
OMG I could NOT do this without a pattern. It's the most life-like I've ever seen in a cross-stitch so small. O___O Totally BRILLIANT (just like House)!! Shocked

>.< My bad! Credit goes to blue_lalita!! I should wear glasses when I read  Grin And YES luckdragon, it's THAT one. It's what inspired me to try and attempt embroidery in the first place. It's why I'm here.  Wink I look forward to see what this group has to offer. Everything I've seen is so unique and fantastic!! I WONDER WHO'S GOING TO TAKE MY HOOPLA VIRGINITY?? -SNICKERS LASCIVIOUSLY-

EHHH----there's another possible embroidery swap going on in New Themes too. Handmade VS Machine embroidery...just so you know. =\

^^ Thanks Peihan17 for the tuts. I've been watching youtube like crazy looking for all the stitches and I'm itching to start! Personally one of my favorite hoops was done on craftster in a previous round. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=search2;topic=358157.0;search=img;show_complete=true;sort=ID_MSG|desc
It was the "Flamcock" hoop by onegroovyday. SO BRIGHT and fun!  Cheesy Also, the Japanese inspired one by Limeriot. I WANT IT!! OMG so in love with that! I tried to Wist it but it won't show the right image on my wists page... so random. lol.

You know, I shamefully admit that I hated the thought of hooplas at first. I saw all the ATC, Inchies, Hoopla, and dotees swaps going on and I LOATHED the idea of collecting those things -shiver- USELESS! I thought. Those things would drive me CRAZY!And then...... I actually clicked on the latest hoopla round because my partner in a  swap collected them and I wanted ideas.
OMG the embroidery skill and the wonderful ideas made me so excited to discover such a cool skill! I immediately wished there would be another round so I could join. And LO! Not even a week later, this pops up.
Long story short.... I WANT IN!!!!!!
I can't embroider. T-T I can cross-stitch the heck out of anything but I want to learn to embroider. I think it'll be wonderful. KUDOS to all you wonderful ladies (and gentleman if there are any out there) with so much talent and thoughtfulness to set up these swaps.

Just got back from the Post Office!!!!!  Grin ;DThose customs forms aren't fair for swappers who want to be surprised >.< You get to find out what's inside before you even open the box. NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!! So yeah. Ryn's and my packages should be arriving relatively close to one another! YAY!!
@Ryn---There's NOTHING you can make me that I wouldn't love. Really. I'm ALLLLL about hand made things. I'm so excited!!

I shamefully admit that I've never actually READ any of the Alice literature >.< I'll have to remedy that soon. I am, however, a HUGE fan of Tim Burton's Alice. The Cheshire cat (of course) and also the Bandersnatch. Totally Brill. And what woman can resist the faintly sneering voice of Alan Rickman as Absolum? -swoon- But his Hatter was the most enigmatic and bewitching I have ever seen. It took me two or three times watching to actually like the Alice he chose for it though. She admittedly wasn't my favorite although the costumes were FANTABULOUS!!!  SO yeah... Tim Burton all the way for me, man.

Meh... sorry for the outburst before >.<. I don't want Pixar to END UP like Disney and doing sequels is like one step towards it, ya know? Anyway, I'm sending out tomorrow. Everything came together nicely and I hope my partner likes what I made her ^^ I know I would Like my package if it came for Me (sorry if that sounds arrogant). I'm just excited that everything turned out so well since they were mostly first time endeavors.

WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST LEAVE A GOOD STORY ALONE?Huh? I hated ALL the Disney 2nd's!!! Angry There are millions of books out there... why can't they just make one of THOSE into a movie instead of making a second movie to a story that was already great---and COMPLETE? Gawd, it's all about money... this makes me sad. I'm happy to hear about Brave though. I like fairy tales ^^
