1  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Flea Markets and Garage Sales on: October 05, 2006 01:09:52 PM
I'm always finding out about awesome flea markets and garage sale type things after the fact. I'm starting this topic as a place where people can find out about these things BEFORE they've happened.

For instance, this weekend I missed a what I was told was a great flea market at the fairgrounds.

And I discovered driving by the fair today that there is a YMCA Garage Sale going on as we speak. I haven't been yet but those are usually pretty good. They sometimes charge you a few bucks to get in though.

As a semi-joke gift, I bought a little hand-held sewing maching at Goodies for a friend's birthday but it didn't come with instructions. Does anybody know how to thread one of these?

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Coffee beans on: August 16, 2005 10:36:25 AM
Does making an anklet out of coffee beans and hemp count as reconstuction?

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dress Form advice on: July 26, 2005 07:26:59 AM
I'm looking at dress forms on ebay but I don't know anything about them and don't know whether the ones I'm looking at are any good.

Are the new, expensive ones they sell at Joanne's any better or different than an older, vintage, adjustable one?

Any help, advice, or comments will be greatly appreciated.
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Beatle Projects on: June 18, 2005 01:20:55 PM
I'm noticing a lot of Beatle fans and Beatle related projects in here so I thought I would try to get them all in one place.

So...show us your Beatle stuff!

This was my first project ever... a simple iron on I made for my son. He is a huge Beatle fan and all of these were done either for or by him.

Next, the Beatles - Yellow Submarine action figures I made for him.

Updated to add this pic:

And these next two are drawings that he did. His prefered medium is crayons on notebook paper.  Grin

I'll add more later. Next!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pillow case dress on: June 13, 2005 10:52:33 AM
I made this dress for my daughter from a pillow case I got at Goodies for a buck. I'm thinking about making a matching hat and bloomers with the other case?? What do you think?

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Boohbah earrings on: May 13, 2005 09:20:59 AM
My 5 year old son was admiring our babysitters 14 earrings and asked her why she didn't have any Boohbah earrings. She told him that she didn't have any so he offered (volunteered me) to make some for her.  Grin
