I've used wintergreen oil on ribbon and it transfers the toner from a laser print (b&W or color) beautifully - but I have no idea if it is washable. You can find wintergreen oil at pharmacies and places that sell essential oils.

Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas and pictures. I just started selling my wares at the local Farmer's Market here in Bellingham, Washington and all of the fabulous advice and info I found here on craftster really helped me to be totally prepared! Here are some pics of the display I came up with.

I used a 4 foot folding table covered with an old seventies table cloth and a 5 foot ladder with shelves placed across the steps. It is really sturdy and very easy to set-up and take down.
