I made this bath pouf the other day. I don't know if I'll use it, but now i have a small gift ready if i need one. And a toy until then.

22  Baby Pea Pod in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: June 25, 2013 09:50:47 PM
Since long before my brother and sister-in-law had a baby, they referred to their future child as Sweet Pea. Naturally their baby needed a pea pod cocoon.

I used a pattern from Ruby Knits, with some slight alterations... which i can't remember anymore.

Oh, but instead of US15 needles, i used US11, as that is what i had... But somehow i hit her gauge, so it worked.

23  Baby Yoda in Crochet: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: June 25, 2013 09:32:31 PM
For my nephew's 8-month hat, my sister asked for Yoda. A Father's Day surprise for my brother-in-law, a huge Star Wars fan.

I've made a couple blankets since my last big post. Sadly, mostly not from stash. But i do have something to share.

A Loki-inspired coffee sleeve, posted about here.

Coffee cozy.

Preemie girl hat:

My brother asked me for a Duck Dynasty-esque beard (he's a camp counselor this summer). I completely forgot until the night before he left, so this is what he got...

My older brother used to wear a fleece vest every single day. He even wore it to a Homecoming dance... So one of his nicknames is Toofvesto. A couple years ago, i made him an hilariously unflattering vest out of felt. Then one for his wife. And now one for his baby.

Started this ages ago. Tried to keep it spontaneous, but the more i work on something, the more i end up planning it out. So i set it aside for a while and finally finished it. It's a nice project bag size.

25  Loki-inspired Coffee Sleeve in Crochet: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: June 25, 2013 09:14:34 PM
I had these colors lying around after making a leprechaun hat for my nephew, and it brought Loki to mind. So naturally my mind went to coffee. And coffee sleeves. Not really. I just didn't have enough to make anything else.

I even added his cape. But i sewed it down, so it wouldn't get in the way.

Does anybody else see Loki in this, or is it just me?

T-shirt rag rug.

I still have a ton of t-shirt strips ready to be connected into yarn, and still a bunch of shirts to be cut up.

Baby blanket.

Little Bananahead.

Well, April is my month, purple is my favorite color, and i believe i have some paisley fabric somewhere. Woohoo!

My sister sent me a picture of my nephew in his Mickey Mouse hat. Like i figured, the ears do not stay up, but it's maybe even more adorable because of it.

Look at his little face. Hahaha!

I made a few green things this month...
A shamrock hat for my nephew, Liam (whom i finally got to meet last night!). A shamrock for me. A sweatband and wristers for my brother because he was in a quidditch tournament.

Remember the fox hat i posted last time? My friend never did send me her address, and my awkwardness wouldn't allow me to re-ask... Then, a couple days ago, i saw a photo of her son wearing a fox hat almost identical to the one i had made. So now i have a baby fox hat.

I also made a Mickey Mouse hat, but i'm not sure the ears are sturdy enough to stand up on their own. I sent it to my sister to try it on my nephew, so we'll see what happens when it gets there.

29  Re: Doctor Who Craftalong 2012-2013 and Beyond! in Craftalongs by bananaleg on: March 29, 2013 01:46:54 PM
Haha! I love the Dalek hoop!

I finished a pair of socks using Bowties Are Cool by Mandie Harrington.

They should be dry by now. Can't wait to get them on my feet! Smiley

Your fabric hat looks so fun, Kook!

I haven't taken photos of everything i've been making, but here are a few.

A bunch of baby hats.

This is for a friend's new baby, but i haven't gotten her address yet, so i have no photos of them on him.

I make hats for my nephew each month. This is his 5-month hat for March.

Got this yarn in a swap with Shannin last year.

I made two of these cowls. One for a friend and then one for me.

Some felt goodies for luckdragon, minus one mustache i didn't take a picture of.

Had to buy the snaps for the needlebook, but maybe they will help me use up more of my felt now.

My niece was invited to a birthday party. I found out i would be taking her the night before, and she had no present. Her friend's favorite color is purple. Smart girl.

These two are wips.
I thought the greens went well together in the store, when i bought them a long time ago... but all done up, i'm not so sure. Working on incorporating other colors.

This one so far is all stash yarn. But i had less of each color than i thought. Debating whether to buy more of each color or add other colors (which i don't really want to).

After years of trying to conceive and having no luck... my brother and sister-in-law finally had a baby boy thanks to embryo adoption. He's a preemie. He was born 8 days ago, 15 3/4" long, and weighing 3 pounds. I had some leftover yarn from when my other nephew was born, and i made him this tiny security blanket. It's on his bed in the NICU.

And after the NICU nurses saw his blanket, they all told my brother how much they love it, and that i should make them for all the NICU babies.
I've been buying yarn for those because i want them to have bright and cheerful and baby soft starghans, but for this one, i used some rainbow-y stuff from stash.

Last but not least... some of you from last year might remember i got a huge bag of yarn from my cousin. Her mom was going to make her a blanket when she was a baby, but she never did and decided to give her the yarn last year instead... and she gave it to me. Well, she and her husband are also trying to have a baby. They're trying IVF, again, and i'm just hoping and praying it works this time. I really want them to have this baby blanket i'm making from her yarn.

I think i might keep it like this, but i might do a couple more rows. I haven't decided. A lot of the colors are running out.

Whew. Did anybody get through all of that?
