191  Notepad Cover? in Completed Projects by bananaleg on: November 12, 2010 03:48:31 PM
*I'm terribly sorry, i had no idea where to put this. Please move it, if i put it in the wrong spot.*

My mom and i were at a small craft fair last month, and a woman was selling notepad covers, i guess you could call them. It has a spot for a notepad, two spots next to it for pens/pencils and then the sides fold over to cover it... so there are two more pockets there, as well. (There are pictures below to show what i'm trying to explain.)

My mom loved it and asked me to see if i could make one. So, i did. Smiley

The woman had the corners folded so you can see the notepad, but i'm not sure which way i like it best:

I originally wanted the darker material on the outside, and the other on the inside, but i goofed. Smiley

192  Fingerless Gloves *edited to add more* in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: November 08, 2010 06:44:07 PM
This is my first knitted project! Though i suppose the project is only half completed since i've only done one so far, eh? Sorry, i was too excited to wait to finish a second one!

I used this tutorial: http://www.howcast.com/videos/428-How-To-Knit-Fingerless-Gloves
But i changed the rows a bit. There are 9 on the bottom bit, 14 in the middle, and 5 on top.

*EDIT*
He now has a twin, but for some reason i don't have a picture of both. (They're basically identical, though.)

And the newest one (it was too late to start his twin last night, so i'll be making that one today), my Ravenclaw glove:

In case i don't make a shirt for the opening of Deathly Hallows, at least i'll have these! Cheesy

194  An Interpretation of zombiebex's Cubimals in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: November 03, 2010 06:04:18 PM
zombiebex posted about her amazingly adorable cubimals, and i fell in love. I tried my hand at making a goat... Nowhere near as cute as her cubimals, of course, but he's kind of fun!

195  Stuffed... Goat? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: November 03, 2010 05:58:10 PM
I love goats and am obsessed with finding a good goat stuffie i can make. I found a picture of what seemed pretty easy, and tried it out.

He ended up looking like a deer. So... perfect Christmas gift for my sister-in-law! Haha.

His underside is the same brown as his head. Even if he isn't a goat, i still love him.

196  5-strand Braid Bracelets (Hogwarts House Colors) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by bananaleg on: November 01, 2010 05:27:37 PM
They're nothing special, but i have made a ton of these bracelets. I much prefer braiding with five strands, rather than three.

My friend i were (loosely) Harry and Ron for Halloween two years ago, so i made us Gryffindor and Hufflepuff (in memory of Cedric Diggory) bracelets: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=13576&l=f2af743482&id=1578870002

And earlier this year, after finally reading the books, i decided to go ahead and make all four houses:

197  Cupcake Throw Pillow in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by bananaleg on: November 01, 2010 03:36:47 PM
My brother's friend would always ask me to make him things (before he left for college). The last thing i made for him was a cupcake throw pillow out of felt and embroidery floss.

Completely done by hand, no machine. The swirls are definitely what took the longest, but i couldn't imagine making a cupcake and not putting swirls in the icing bit. I just always do it that way.

I just got to visit him, and the cupcake is proudly on display on his bed. Cheesy

198  Finger puppets. Now With Snape! (Photo Heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: October 31, 2010 03:14:58 PM
My newest finger puppet: Potter Puppet Pal Snape! I love him, but my finger puppet turned out a little odd, and he's much larger than my others...

I was trying to figure out what i should make for my brother this June for his graduation. I couldn't think of anything to make 1) in time, and 2) that he would like (at least, not hate). Then, a couple hours before we had to leave, it hit me: FINGER PUPPET! Even if he hated it... i could play with it. School colors: blue and gold (yellow, who are we kidding). Mascot: Trojans.

I was definitely way more excited about it than he was. It turned out way better than i thought it would. And thus began my obsession.
I made a bride one for my sister, though i can't seem to find any pictures...

A ninja (my very favourite, so far):

199  UgWee Dolls -- Photo VERY HEAVY in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: October 29, 2010 02:16:48 PM
I got the idea when my little niece flipped out over seeing those Ugly Dolls. Her nickname is WeeWee (there's a whole story behind that), so i decided to name my little creations UgWee Dolls.
Most of them have a little heart on them somewhere.

My favourite, from the beginning (surprisingly, no name):

The original. We ended up naming him Murphy. He's too cool for school:

His tail. If you look super closely, you might be able to make out the WW on his butt (for WeeWee).

And his nametag, which i take off when WeeWee wants to play with him, of course.

This guy also has no name (wow, slacking), but his head holds an iPod. Also, if you use him in the dark, the iPod makes his eyes glow. Also... he has a satchel. In the interest in keeping this as short as is possible (for me), i won't show you the back, but he has a tail, and it's kinda curly:

You can kinda see the glow here:

This is Levi. He's gay, and loves to shout it out. Check out his rainbow scarf and bracelet. Also his ugly star (something my friend draws on everything) tattoo on his left shoulder.

And his fanny pack.

This is Stephen. He was a gift for a friend. Stephen loves boating (note his boating shoes, life vest, and goggles).

The abs are just ridiculous fun.

He has gotten me through many a night. And wow, i haven't named him, either!

Another no-name (not even surprised at my slacking anymore).

And this is a monkey i made for my friend's baby. She wanted a monkey theme Smiley

If you have name suggestions, let me know! Cheesy

200  Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: October 27, 2010 06:38:55 PM
Early this year, my cousin passed away. She was born with health problems and so much pain, and she amazed us all by even living to 30 years old. Not long after, i was talking to another cousin and we decided to get the girl cousins together and get matching tattoos. Because i'm the most crafty/artistically-inclined, it was decided i would design it. So, i did, but my cousin took it into the shop and the artist fixed it for us.

Our cousin loved animals and gardening, so it was down to ducks or flowers (and i kind of hate flowers). Ducks, it is!

This is the best picture of my duck, a few days after getting it done, so it's healing here:

Cousin ducks:

Turns out her favourite colors were green and purple. Mine is purple, the cousin who collaborated on the tattoos with me... hers is green, and my younger sister's is pink. I looove purple, but (like my spool tattoo) i didn't want my duck to be purple, i wanted to go with green. And similarly, my cousin loves green but wanted her duck to be purple instead. So, we did a little switcharoo. It worked out splendidly.

It took me a while to name him (i love naming everything), but eventually decided on Gordon Bombay, Coach for short. (Please tell you get that Mighty Ducks reference. If not, watch Mighty Ducks. Now.)

Side note: My little niece found out his name is Gordon, so when i see her, she says, "Gowdon? Wack wack." She loves him. Cheesy
